First song I am posting in 2024!

This is what I wrote in 2013 when I first thought about posting Nothing But (The Sound) but decided to take it down from the cloud short after. 

"Nothing But (The Sound)" is Plastic Inevitable's first song since 2011! Plastic Inevitable is Marty Procaccio, AKA Blankets, working the sound and Sneekie San Salvador tweaking the sound. The recording for this song began in 2011 in the bedroom recording studio of Marty in Santa Clara California using GarageBand and a whole bunch of pedals. The song was completed in 2013 with vocals recorded in Sneekie San Salvador's mobile Toyota recording unit.

Now it is 11 years later...

I am amazed that I found the vocal stems. I had to look though an old hard drive to find them. I did not feel like digging through more old hard drives for the original track stems. Big thanks to Russell for taking the time to mix the vocals and master the track. I told Russell, when I mixed the original instrumental I was listening to a lot of shitgaze bands at the time. 

May you find many gems when you dig into your past.

Dear friends,
so much dangerous junk they send out every day during these wars!!
They should be thoroughly ashamed! It is dangerous for people, animals and the climate. So much hate that exists today! And the hatred and violence is also increasing in the Middle East! So sad! Everyone should really sit down and think about what they are doing. Dear rulers of the world - war is not a game!! This song is topical right now (17/11 -24) when the wars are escalating! 

Cultivating

they want to cultivate their land
but it ain’t so easy since
they live in the east    -     near the border of
the invading country - which pumps out a lot of scrap
in the fields where our friends want to see that the 
grain is growing up - they have never asked for the war

There are people in Africa
who long for grain from Ukraine
they starve to death.      -    while waiting for the ships   
which can’t sail away -  from the coast in the Black Sea
since there are evil forces who threatens the
crews on the ships who want to help those in need.

It is so dangerous
to cultivate the land in Ukraine
the tractor can hit.   -     mines and bombs everywhere
and if the small children. -   want to play on the ground
they may loose their legs or if they still will sur-
vive from these wounds their future lives will be hell

Synopsis

Following unprecedented worldwide growth in human conflict, an emergency plenary session of the United Nations was convened late in 2023, tasked with finding new approaches to defuse global tension and ease conciliation. Recognising the abject failure of extant UN jurisdictions and powers, and in a radical restructuring of the international legal and security framework, that session established a new UN institution to sit alongside the International Court of Criminal Justice. The International Court of Moral Justice was formally incorporated into the UN Constitution on 1 January 2024.

The foundations of this infant organisation and those of the UN itself were shaken when it was revealed that the inaugural case to be heard by the ICMJ was to be a private prosecution brought by greed itself against the defendant, mankind’s innate sense of humanity.

In papers lodged with the court, the protagonist, Lord Mammon has asserted that the fundamental basis for human misery, the creation of discontent, thence envy and hence conflict, is to be found exclusively in false moral goodness and self-righteousness borne of a misplaced sense of benevolence. The human race survived and thrived, he states, not by moving at the pace of the slowest, or sharing resources with the weakest, but by taking and keeping, for the self alone, much more than is needed for basic subsistence, this being the singular route to strength, individual contentment and thus tolerance of others.

In reply, a broken and demoralised Lady Humanity has been compelled to present her own defence after failing to secure funding for a legal team to counter the advocates ranged in front of Lord Mammon. The case for the defence rests solely on the premise that good comes from within and cannot be created from nothing. So whilst she may try to bolster the moral cause in her work, she increasingly finds that the human souls she sees have no humanity in them whatsoever for her to strengthen, nothing to work with and as such, concedes that she has failed, but denounces the notion that it was for want of trying. Devoid of resources, supporters and allies of any kind she single handedly has held the fort against the self-perpetuating, self-reinforcing massed ranks of Mammon.

The Lord Chief Justice of the ICMJ along with his bench of associate judiciary adjourn proceedings to consider their findings and in the final act, return to deliver their verdict.

Recently, I've been thinking about what seems to be a global race to the bottom. Escalating wars and unchecked technologies threaten our future, raising concerns about possible human extinction. I can't claim to have solutions to these dire scenarios, but it's clear our current path isn't sustainable. Perhaps we need a new approach—a Plan "B".
