I miss travel. I used to travel a lot. Sit in bars and write lyrics. Lockdowns have not been good for me. I don't seem to find inspiration to do music, I guess because normal of daily life is so close and music is much more than normal.

But a muse visited me this week and inspired me to knuckle down and produce something. Nothing perfect.. but just from the heart.

Another Angel song...  long may they keep coming.



7th Trumpet.

I met Jibreel in an Irish Pub, one dry night in Dubai.
His wings were crushed beneath his coat. Ashamed he once could fly
Hunched on his stool and frowning deep into his stout

The aircon was so fierce it froze, conversations swell, 
we just sat beneath the TV screens, in silent rugby’s happy spell.
The Guinness was not good, but for cold comfort we gladly paid.
And as he finished up another pint, he caught my eye and said

7th Trumpet (Something Memorable)

Hi and welcome to the 3rd track from my new project "Then She Reaches For The Gun". Huge thanks to all the artists involved. This track features quite a few new people! Its humbling that so many people want to be part of this madness : ) 

The project’s inspiration is two fold: Firstly its a homage to some of the stuff i grew up listening to like Mr. Bungle and other noisy bastards where anything goes, and often in quick fire succession and secondly it is a chance to work with an never ending stream of talented musicians that i have known for years either in real life or via the Internet. Each track will no doubt change depending on who has sent me what.

 (This is a quote from Dani Kirby at rehearsal one evening last year when discussing the complex relationship between performing musicians and the general public.)

Documenting the period of March 2020 through March 2021, through music. A year as turbulent as the revolutionary 60's, yet days blurred into weeks, into months... we were isolated, separated.  Those who would resurrect the ghosts of hatred, unleashed their personal demons. They haunt us still. It is a time we would rather forget, but it should never be forgotten, lest it happen again.

The finishing touch (I hope) to the (soon to be) album “Haunted,” Currently in my Playlists.

Haunted - An Overture

I finally made a Xmas song this year. But It won't save the world this time too.

Synesthesia is main motif for this song, first because of original lyrics, then as I felt like adding it more flavor with female vocals*, & finally when I recently watched some paintings about this matter**.

*Great vocal performance by https://soundcloud.com/maraoldfield is most notorious matter in this piece, where riffing parts toggle with bass-guided proggy ones.
