The Dance of Mahanaim - Remastered by Vaisnava

I have taken Hayley Westenra's version of Always with me and added Bass, Drums, Accoustic and two types of electric guitar to make a new song.

This was very challenging because:
1. The original has no set tempo, which is hard to overlay to one speed. 
2. The original has slow and fast bits, so there was no close speed.
3. My guitar samples were recorded in 4/4 but the song is 3/3
4. The bass line took me an EPOCH!!


This is now possible for me to do because I have upgraded to an i7 quad core processor and 8 gig of memory.

It means that the computer can handle huge amouts of sound manipulation and takes less time to finalise a high quality copy.

Due to Popular Demand - A HQ vid and I have tweaked the audio by maing the wind instruments slightly quieter and remade the end.

I have made this version of Laputa's ending song as it is probibly my favorate anime tune.  I have answered a couple of questions I normally get asked about my music.

FAQ:

Q: Did you write this song?
A: No.  It was composed by a great Japanese modern composer, Joe Hisaishi for the film Laputa in 1986

Q. So what is this then?
A. I have remade the original playing it in piano with bass and accompaniment.

Q. So if I gave you a grand piano could you just play this?
A. No, it's far beyond my capabilities to play this live, but I played it and recorded each part in small chunks by playing it by hand. I can manage the melody with a bass note.

Q. How are the sounds made?
A. I play it all on a small keyboard (with a broken D# key) directly into my computer.  I choose a sound stored on my computer to replay my notes.

Q. So what's the point?
A. The original is a piece of musical genius.  I did not have any sheet music so I had to listen and pick the song apart before reconstructing it.  Interestingly enough the melody was quite clear to pick out, but the chords had me baffled at times.  By reconstructing a song like this I can gain knowledge myself and become a better writer.

I have remade the classic game Space Crusade (1990) music originally by Barry Leitch. I remember it as a truly awesome game that really gave birth to the current generation of Warhammer games.  I loved the music and have meant to do a Next Gen version for ages.

Lament is a song co written by Kenny MacConnachie AKA EVONY and Mourillio Castro.

I played the piano part 10 years ago and this time used a sampler to lift the original sound.  From there I manipulated the sample to create new chords that fit.

Mourillio has then made this beautiful song around the new chord structure.  I have then created the backing track to fit the sounds, eq'd, mixed and mastered. Simple.
