Fresh takes on 90’s jungle and atmospheric drum & bass by Finland’s ODJ Pirkka. Starting track ‘OMG’ combines soulful R&B vibes with blunt basslines, radical samples programming and hard hitting beats. DJ Sofa remixes ‘OMG’ into a dope Bristol style roller with infectious bassline and some hi-energy buildups and cuts. Flipside ‘Bookworm’ is an atmospheric roller with memorable sunrise synths and a sneaky dark section in the middle that slams you with a crazy reese bassline and some red hot amens. Lastly Msymiakos from Norway uses the supplied atmospherics to remix ‘Bookworm’ into an intricate and brooding drum workout.

Godspeed showcases a variety of out-of-the-box percussive dance trax clocking around the one-sixty temposcape, with new tune released on the first day of each month.

Pulsating techno synths, nasty hip hop vocals, tough jungle beats, commanding rhythm programs - this is badass dancefloor perfection for the modern age.

Wrekkid has a unique style going with these hectic percussive jungle-not-jungle tunes that cram in a lot of elements from different directions while keeping the vibe relentless and engaging.

This is one of the tracks that inspired the formation of the Godspeed sublabel and has been played at events for a while now. It's a pleasure and an honor to get this one out finally.

ODJ Pirkka: Keskustori 86 (Jimi Tenor remix)

One of the low key driving forces at EABE records, producer DJ Lifegoals is now stepping into spotlight with the release of his debut vinyl EP Life Imitates Art. Over the past year the Helsinki-based producer has been the talk of his hometown, gathering momentum with his euphoric live gigs, as well as his eclectic DJ sets at the top venues of Helsinki. 

Especially his live set at The Flow Festival 2018 seemed to perfectly capture the blissful mood of the exceptionally long and hot summer in Helsinki. The same joyous atmosphere is also the dominant one on the Life Imitates Art EP, which musically documents the rare and precious moment when the shores of The Baltic Sea felt more like The Balearic Islands.

The producer, while only recently emerged under the alias DJ Lifegoals, has a long history with electronic music, having started collecting records at the age of 13 under the guidance of a local DJ. The vast range of influences is heard in DJ Lifegoals’ music, that while paying homage to his 90’s house, breakbeat and acid favourites, is constantly surprising listeners with explorations to unsailed seas. Characteristic to DJ Lifegoals’ music is the fine balance between euphoric eruptions of rave-ready moments and more subtle, progressive elements.

With the much-anticipated release of his debut EP, DJ Lifegoals is now looking forward to next summer’s gigs, as well as working on his second EP and remixes for several artists.

”Discontinuity” as a release is my attempt at trying to be unpredictable with electronic  music, even though all tracks are based on loops. The main focus of this EP is trying to approach a more cleaner sound while maintaining a warm comforting dreamscape. These songs have been inspired by clear water and the sounds of insects. All tracks of this release have hidden structures, so if you listen closely to certain components you hopefully get your brain zapped in a good stimulating way.

This EP is a charity release and all profit will be donated to the ongoing crisis of Yemen through Finn Church Aid.
