Eagervision welcomes a new face in its family -  Jo.an Julian hails from the coastal town of La Romana, in the Dominican Republic, and inspires this EP around different types of code used for languages and encryption.

In “Ciphers”, each of the three tracks speaks its own language, giving different unusual vibes, from the oddly perfect fit between minimal and garage of ‘Affine Cipher’, to the lysergic, glitched, microhouse of ‘Polybius Square’, and the soothing neat house groove of ‘Hieroglyphics’.

However don’t expect this release to sound randomly put together - Jo.an manages to draw a strong stylistic fil rouge throughout the EP, not only letting us know of what he’s capable of as a producer but also shaping a next level flexible yet specific style of futuristic, cutting-edge, house. Fernando Montes is a music producer, composer and also a DJ. Born in Spain Madrid, he currently works and lives in the UK London. His passion for music began when he discovered the band Queen from his father records. In his music it is possible to hear influences from artists such as Mike Oldfield, Pink Floyd, Queen, or Fleetwood Mac.
Fernando started his career as a DJ when he was just fourteen years old and at this age he bought his first pair of decks and mixer. His love for percussion and the latin rhythm shines through in all his live performances and in his productions.
 
Between the ages of fourteen and seventeen years old Fernando was the resident of some of the best clubs in Madrid such as Pacha Madrid, Joy Eslava, Kapital or Macumba. As soon as he turned eighteen a promoter suggested that he run a new nightclub with a new concept of music named Nells. Nells Madrid was where Fernando established his reputation in Madrid’s clubbing scene and where he spent the following seven years playing for thousands of people. Nells became one of the most successful clubs in Madrid and this gave him the confidence to develop his skills behind the decks. Fernando started to gain recognition from other venues and promoters due to the high volume of people he managed to attract to the club.
 
Fernando decided it was time to venture out into other areas, which is where his connection to fashion began. Fernando had the opportunity to play at different collection and presentation shows for brands such as Armani, Ralph Lauren, Reebok and the magazine Vogue. Being involved in these fashion shows gave him a new experience performing to a more intimate audience. From this point his interest developed in creating his own sound to express himself through the music. He found that playing other artists music would not always represent the mood that he tried to convey at the shows.

Fernando was not ready to settle for solely a Dj career and wanted to further his skills into music production. At the age of twenty-five he moved to London where he began to teach himself how to produce music through online courses and video tutorials. It is in London where Fernando met Stefano Manganini who plays an important role in his productions today. Currently the two are collaborating, with Fernando making the composition and arrangements and Stefano playing the guitar. Both take influence from their latin roots and juxtapose this with darker more melancholic harmonies. Their most recent project involves a new series of instruments, harmonies and an energetic vibe. Their unique style and melodies transport the listener to another world. 

‘Paradise Row’ released in May 2016 is the album which the two collaborators produced and went on to feature in a fashion campaign for London based brand Cruzbueno. Cruzbueno integrated the album into the advertising campaign of three collections as well as using the album for the soundtrack of their catwalk show. The catwalk show launched Fernando’s career with the audience and press singing his praises after the event. ”The music was a well timed, perfect composition complimenting the pieces and models, a great feel good feeling across the room.”

Fernando Montes continues his career as a Dj, producer and collaborator constantly pushing the boundaries of experimental sounds. Fernando just have signed a record deal with Eagervision Records which will be releasing his new EP Petrescus this summer.
