Short Life Of Trouble

Try if you can to remove all cultural meaning to the words of "eagle" and "freedom". Imagine a bird of prey soaring through turbulent pockets of wind, scouring the land with keen eyes in search of the next meal. Driven by this vision, The Eagles Of Freedom have developed a sound unique, yet familiar to this hunt. The search for new melodies among a songscape seen and heard before. Always close to the freedom of a bird to choose its' course over shifting terrain. Jeff Baxter (fiddle/banjo) and Norm Buccola (accordion) began playing acoustic old world music together in 2007. Initially playing songs from Europe and appalachia, they grew to embrace music from Northeastern Brazil and New Orleans. The addition of longtime friend Micah Kassell (percussion) has untethered the Eagles of Freedom to explore great heights of light-hearted james. Diving through backbeats of 2-steps, tango, reggae, forro, zydeco, the Eagles of Freedom are constantly searching for the next comfy jam.
