Ean Golden, one of the earliest pioneers and community leaders of DJ culture since 1997, has returned with his first original body of work in over 15 years. "Love and Shadow" is completely written and composed in the Ecstatic Dance format, a wave of energy and tempos designed to bring the dancer back into their emotional bodies. 

Ean takes the listener on a full journey of his interior world—navigating a wide range of musical intensities. The album dives into several styles of music and manages to blend them together in a cohesive emotional arc, remaining authentic and powerful throughout. In the present age of short 'snackable' music releases and disappearing attention spans, Ean makes a bold statement by releasing a full length concept album asking us to listen with our full emotional attention.

This is the live mix from the grand opening of Friday night dances, presented by Santa Barbara Ecstatic Dance. It's a great example of the journey and vibe you might find there. This particular night was a special black light them so the set leans more heavily towards dark animal and rave undertones.

The GET DOWN NYC - DJ Set

November 13th 2012 @ TV BAR in Detroit Michigan. 

This was a very deep set, in which there was very little "controllerism" other than a few notable moments where I am playing strings, pads, and pulses over and between mixes. 

The city of detroit really inspired me and created a totally unique sound only for this one night. Thank you to everyone that made this night special and the great crowd in Detroit - I hope to come back soon.

This special recording was made inside the Yoga Barn Ecstatic Dance during August 2018 using microphones so you can hear what that amazing room truly sounds like including the very rowdy crowd!  This recording includes a special sound healing at the end from a local artist named Jen who I ended up recording on my album " Love and Shadow".

Yoga Barn Ecstatic Dance - Ubud Bali Sunday Morning

This is a one hour ecstatic dance style journey that was recorded during a new moon. The set is intended to be a cathartic movement practice.  The first 30 minutes are harder and offer an invitation to connect with and release harder feelings - especially anger and grief. The 2nd half is about inviting in and reconnecting to the heart and positive intentions for the future.
