Our long awaited second record comes in the form of a vinyl only VA, showcasing a variety of experimental club sounds from the UK’s underground.

UK Bass duo @heritage_ds collaborate with @Delouk on the A1. Following up EARWAX001 and The Reminiscence EP with a signature Bass/Breaks hybrid, Undesirable.

The A2 comes from the Berlin based and Sneaker Social Club affiliate, @Lowendactivist. 'Circle Speak' is a 140bpm low end, club weapon who’s rolling sub bass and mid-track percussion set the precedent and typify’s LEA’s genre bending style.

On the flip, we welcome Leeds producer @Krotone to the label, bringing with him a forward thinking Techno-Garage sound. The gradual onset of signature dubbed out chords on 'Immersed' make for a lengthy hypnotic breakdown and an emotional return to the dance floor.

Closing things out is @yosh_productions, who’s been firing on all cylinders since his 2020 emergence with serious EP's on Vivid, Time Is Now and Holding Hands. His remix of 'Immersed' is an all-out, drums blazing, breaks wobbler.

EARWAX002 | VA - Heritage X Delo / Low End Activist / Krotone (+Yosh Remix)

The EOWLTD 10" series kicks off with the Odysseys EP by @holloway-95. Launched as a project to showcase the label's more genre centred tastes, the south London based DJ & Producer pulls no punches when it comes to the imprints first offering.

Following recent releases on Bluff Records, Time Is Now and INSTINCT, Holloway debuts his first 140 project. Sounding fresh out the mid-naughties, expect club rattling subs in the form of stripped-back Dubstep pressure. The EP showcases an elating, garage-influenced, FWD-thinking sound somehow nostalgic and yet also completely new.

The record opens with ‘Chat Bad’. With Holloway's characteristic low-end mechanics providing a base layer for the syncopated percussive workout that sits on top. The dark stabs and other melodic elements are guaranteed to turn heads in the dance.

On the flip side. ‘Levitate’ kicks off with a hypnotic, heads-down mood with deep subs and dubbed-out vocals. At the switch-up Holloway’s idiosyncratic basslines are introduced for those gun-finger, energetic moments in the club.

Next up in our podcast series comes courtesy of Operate, a Berlin based UK Garage centred club night, crew, production outfit and label, by Ben Mono and TMSN. 

Since 2015 Operate have hosted a bimonthly UKG night in the now legendary clubs Farbfernseher and Griessmühle (RIP) with a string of illustrious guests from the core of the scene.

Operate have the first instalment on their newly formed label due for release just around the corner, a collaborative EP with our UK based friends, DimSum Records. OPRT001 is called Sweet Talk and features original tracks from the duo as well a remix by Soul Mass Transit System which is included in their guestmix. Keep your ears out for that as it launches on the 25th August!

@amaliahppeche is a London based selector with sounds that touch varying genres. Starting off as a disco and soul collector, her recent endeavours have gone back to her roots of experimenting with underground dance music, including UKG, bass, UK funky, house and tech. This diverse range of sounds is mirrored within her events brand ‘Borne Fruits’, which host's small scale parties around London epitomising a house party feel. She also holds down a monthly show on Balamii Radio. Amaliah's contribution to our Earful of mix series includes a range of new and old from the likes of Anunaku, Anz & Roska to Sally C and Holloway...

EARFUL OF | Amaliah [Borne Fruits]

Reminiscence EP is the opening vinyl release on Earful of Wax from a massively exciting production duo, @heritage_ds (Movement & Tribalist).  

Something of an emerging year for the versatile pair, 2020 saw what is one of the club tracks of the year in The Revelation via Scuffed Recordings. Club support from Oneman, Anz, Peach and Jossy Mistu came before lockdown hit and these guys got to work in the studio. Overdue vinyl features have since come via Plastik People (alongside a legendary DJ Deller classic), Ruffset Records and a Scuffed vinyl sampler which saw The Revelation deservedly pressed to wax. 

Reminiscence EP is their first to reach 12". A five tracker, sides split between original Heritage tracks and debut solo material.

'Sequoia Night' opens things up, a half-step riddim that combines weighty bassline with breaks and signature Heritage, gritty euphoria. 

'Heads Down' is a 130 ode to the noughties teenager grime instrumental. Raw vocal samples plucked out from the early cyphers complement the unique icey flow which nestles loosely amongst the less genre defining UK sound of now. 

The B-Side delivers three. The first two from Brighton based Patterns resident, @movementsoundz. Box Fresh is straight from the pre-dubstep, dark garage era, now starting to creep back through following a summer of high quality classic sounding Garage. Dare we say Horsepower-esque!

'Concrete Flip' follows in similar fashion, this time crunchy hats and piercing snares provide layers over the wobbley lows. The Burial like vocal catches the ear at every instance; RnB samples done best. 

'The Cascade' is a debut track from @Tribalistbeats. The London half of the two showcases his solo pedegree with an electro, breaks, 4/4 hybrid. The opening 2/3's build up in classic breaks fashion before an all out 4:4 tear up. Another one right at home +10% bpm.

Due for release at the end of November.
