Here's a little thingy I did for Keshavara's radio show "Kabinett der Phantasie" at Dublab. This mix is 30 minutes longer than the original mix –  for the radio I shortened it to fit the 60 minutes airtime. No need to say it's the usual orloggy jumble – most of it exudes some serious outernational space-hippie vibes ;-)

And now for something completely different: though it's not less otherworldy, enthralling, warm and trippy than my usual stuff, this one is a bit special; while there's some wobbling basses and weird noises and even some cuddly analogue synth pads this mix is not only less about beats and more about jingling guitars, swinging sitars and harmony singing but most notably it's less about tracks and more about songs. As usual it's brimful of obscure digs and lots of tunes unbeknownst to the realms of the internet. "Fluffy Clouds Of Celestial Flaws" is 150 minutes of rare, often private pressed psych folk and trippy soft rock gems mixed into one big beach bag of dazzling mellowness. To paraphrase a certain Fatboy Slim quoting Lord Finesse: 
"Right about now /The psych folk brother / Check it out now /The psych folk brother"

"A Wrinkle In Time" is a series of curated guest mixes inspired by John Peels habit to accidentally play records at the incorrect number of rpm. Though it never failed to annoy and embarrass him, one of the tribute compilations released after his death was given the title "Right Time, Wrong Speed". Nowadays Wrongspeeders are a popular and fun tool for most DJs. "A Wrinkle In Time" is not about playing 45s on 33 or the other way round though, but it has one important rule, its only rule: Don’t get too close to the original playing speed of the record, the area between +4 and -4 on the pitch scale of the turntable is a forbidden zone.

This thingy is a tribute to those great late Explorers, the fearless Andrew Weatherall (who among a lot of other genres shared my love for raw and gritty Rockabilly, that’s why I’ve thrown some of that in the mix) and JD Twitch. And it’s dedicated to all those likeminded DJs out there who don’t play by the book, loath doctrines and who are still curious enough to travel distant shores and musical realms, venture into the unknown to bring back souvenirs for the dancefloors, without being afraid of crude combinations, surprising themselves, bold choices, showing some humor, wild breaks or grinding the whole thing to a halt only to restart it even crazier and thus turning the night into a playful rollercoaster ride. But first and foremost it’s a shoutout to that endangered species of club owners, bookers, promotors, party and festival organizers who are still open minded and courageous enough to book us weirdos.
