A track that was heard everywhere from the big gun sets at festivals to the dingy backrooms of clublands underworld months before it officially came out - Shame Cube caught the ear of the more intelligent modern clubber with its unmistakably Sian style vocal creeping into a densely textured mash of beats and bass wobble. 

It marked a segway further into our dark and edgy strobe lit world inhabited solely by Octopus and its henchmen. Having already wrestled into the number 2 spot on Beatport Techno Top 100, we felt it a likely contender for a fan remix contest and we assigned Marc Houle and Oliver Huntemann the tasks of leading the way with their insanely creative interpretations, plus we opened the doors to hordes of fans to appear on this ep alongside the talented trio of producers, and selected a winner named Philip Lowenbek, who´s truly left field mix won us over with a straight-up adventurous attempt. Outstanding reimaginings of a new school cult classic tune, the mixes harness the vibe and stay true to that disturbingly catchy call to arms vocal ¨when will you look at yourself?¨.

Canadian newbie Johnny Trika impressed back in October of last year with his fruity SCI+TEC debut ‘Main Squeeze’. Today he returns with the follow up and a tantalising trio of tracks that have already been causing quite a stir in the sets of label boss Dubfire. 

The piercing siren synth and momentous rises of title track Punk Fools opens the ep, followed by the clean digital droid tweeks and elastic bassline of Dark Matter. Final cut Juicy James oozes with serious string plucking and popping fx, and again we’re treated to a full accompaniment of SCI+TEC DJ tools to round out the release.

It's no doubt, Carl Cox and Jon Rundell knows how to pick em'. The latest addition to their Intec Digital family is none other than Avotre and Hot Creations talent Sidney Charles. The German producer crafted a sound that took over the warehouse and with much success behind his back he has ventured out into new waters, delivering releases on the likes of harder-edged imprints such as Truesoul and Drumcode. His latest release via Intec is a fresh foray into the world of techno. The Hurricane has rendered an awesome three tracker.

German based duo Hidden Empire are swiftly making progression in their climb to the top of the techno scene. They’re known from several hit releases on Stil vor Talent and Traum Schallplatten. We are gleesome to open the doors of Filth on Acid and welcome them for a 3 track original EP. On remix duties we gladly find Egbert, the Dutch powerhouse of peak-time techno, who’s currently releasing on Drumcode.

Twilight Of The Gods opens with Baldur. The authoritative, round kick and bassline build a colossal foundation on which propulsive arpeggiators shift things into next gear. A sturdy, polished groove ensures movement on the dancefloor. The atmospherics and hornlike shout of Baldur, hint to the unfortunate fate of this mythological creature as well as building pleasant pressure.

Mjolnir, the hammer of Thor, stays true to its name, as it is a definite peak-time affair. Long stretched swelling, bassy pads are the backbone for reverberated percussion and dapper synth stabs. Memorable synth melodies unfold on the break to balance force and profoundness.

Bragi can be seen as the most hypnotic of the pack. Arpeggiated synths, soft pads and detailed synths hint to the abstruse nature of Bragi; the god of poets. Smart drum programming keeps the track in ever morphing state.

We close the EP in style, with Egbert’s remix of Bragi. As an artist, always on the lookout of new ways to detonate party crowds, this time he derives a groove with qualities of cavalry. Throughout the track the kick, bassline and drums continuously exert and exchange powers, which makes it sound like a constant battle as to where in the groove they can sit. This unique element builds an enormous strain. Combined with the beautiful break; again Egbert’s music arrives at the next level.

Christian Smith has once again knocked it out the park with a killer second remix package for his “Input/Output” album released back in 2016.  This 4 track EP includes remixes from SHADED, Pig&Dan, Drunken Kong and techno pioneer and true legend of the industry –Laurent Garnier, no surprise after his support for the LP last year.

Another duo who are smashing the charts with every release are fellow Mallorca residents and long-time friends of Christian’s - Pig&Dan. The slamming kick laced up with that crisp percussion and those creeping dark synths come at you in full force for their take on “Subzero”.
