Hi, 

Here is my first self release on a new personal label called ‘Heart Somersault’. 

I'm using this as a way to share my tracks that are more hard hitting/anthemic, and geared towards the club. 

I've been testing these all over in shows for the last year, and they had a real impact on my recent tours. 

The approach here is DJ friendly, underpinned by feelings of euphoria that make the heart spin. Textural Techno!

The 8th release on Desert Hearts Records comes from label boss Mikey Lion alongside fellow tech house enthusiast and Desert Hearts veteran, Bengal. The first track on the EP, titled "Big Cats Groove", is a tribal drum track laced with low slung lion and tiger samples. The vocal sample that instructs the crowd how to properly find the groove was appropriately recorded from Bengal's African Drum Teacher during his last semester at UC Berkeley. The second track on The Big Cats EP, titled "Like That", is a straight to the point tech house banger that hits as low to the floor as it gets. The equally tough vocal sample reminds the crowd to put trust in their DJ just as the bassline comes back in giving them what they want.  Finally, Bengal's remix of "Big Cats Groove" completes the EP as he takes a much more spacey and dubbed out approach to the track. Filled with melodic synths and vocal echoes, the EP ends with a much moodier and super tripped out vibe.

The year is 2017 and Southern California is experiencing its worst drought to date. The Governor has called for an all out state-of-emergency in order for people to reduce, reuse, and recycle, but not for a drought one would expect — four-on-the-floor beats. An unforeseen consequence that in a time of digitalization and over-saturation has left us on a loop and have left the people dehydrated. 

Venues have openly expressed this deep thirst through parched lips and swollen tongues. Dusty hands are put in the air between spotlights and lazers. Children weep on corners to empty grooves. To what purpose? Is there an end to the madness?
 
One party crew has risen from the ashes of a saturated music scene to deliver fresh and fluid House beats to quench the thirst of its parched citizens. West Coast born-and-bred musicians (magicians, if you will), Fritz Carlton, Ghostea, Kevin Anderson, Lubelski, and Rybo have banded together in pursuit of resolving this saturation by giving their beats to the good people of LA and the world with a brand new label titled - Room Temperature Records
 
Their first compilation comes as a teaser of the eclecticism that Room Temp offers LA’s House Music scene — an 11-track heated curation including music from the likes of CA’s Justin Jay, Australia’s Kovaxx, UK’s Josh Brown, Sweden’s Ulf Bonde, and San Francisco’s MPHD.

We are back with a new SNOEflakes edition, and trust us when we say you don’t want to miss out on this one!  As usual the format brings a top-notch selection of artists to the table, and this time it is a solid mix of already known faces and new additions to the label. First off is Lubelski with “Just Business”. This guy has been making waves all over the US lately with his catchy, groove driven sound, and it was just a matter of time before we needed to bring him into the family. “Just Business” is a copious tune filled to the brim with acid inspired synths, the hypnotic vocal elements and playful percussions ready to take over the dance floor. 

The second track of the V.A. is from labelboss herself Beth Lydi. “Spilled Beans” takes you on yet another trip down the exquisite synth lane. Through the synths twisting and turning around the bouncy bassline you can feel the track building up to a fierce break. Ucha is back on SNOE with his wide striking “Carpediem”. As you know from Ucha, the track is packed with heaps of energy radiating through the insatiable groove, creating a powerful frame for the dirty synth pumping it’s way throughout the track. Berlin and US based KC Wray is the second fresh face in the SNOE family, and his track “Wiggidy Whack” is a proper tech house banger ready to set the dance floors on fire with its tight drums, solid bassline and funky vocal elements. “We are both from San Diego, California & met in a music studio class at uni about 3 years ago. We have released a few things individually, but this is actually the first EP we have done together, even though we have been friends for years & practically live a stones throw away from each other.”
Sly Turner is a 23 year old producer originally from Granite Bay, a small town just east of Sacramento. His influences are drawn from ghetto house, tribal drum elements & all things funk & disco. Shuski is a seasoned veteran behind the decks & has been a staple in the San Diego scene for the last few years.
