I know this is a long one, but please stick with me… x

Having kicked a box full of tapes over by accident, rather than tidy them away and crack on....I couldn't resist but have a sneaky listen. There are about 25 FULL 90 minute tapes full of recordings from 1989 onwards (including my GCSE music composition submission)…..I picked this one out as there were no markings/labels on it. F**K!! It’s so old I can’t even date it. Although clearly it’s post 1988/89 as that’s when the Akai S950 went onto the market and you can hear a Carphone Warehouse ad in the background!! :) So raw, would have been recorded straight to cassette tape as MIDI…I don’t remember any open reel tape multi-tracking going on… 

This tape contained 2 tracks.

Track 1 - well if i'm not mistaken I'm hearing a baby Spiritchaser at work. Deep bassline topped and tailed with some ambient film score things! And some randomly tuning radio signals! :D

Track 2 - Blissed out chords, 1/8th note off beat bassline, fairly pacey tempo...trance I reckon!!

If you have the time, please give them a listen. Don’t expect any soulful house vocal club stompers though…I was barely out of nappies!! I was exploring all genres of music, experimenting, discovering my musical and technical strengths and weaknesses (which is still a daily occurrence!) This 20 odd year old audio you are about to listen to represents Baby Earnshaw sitting in a room dreaming of becoming a pro musician, a pro producer, songwriter, artist….dreaming of having the opportunity to share my music with the likes of you. 

So, to all those of you in my life who believed in me and supported me from the beginning, now and will to the end…I thank you. To those who doubted me….I also thank you. You can now stick it up your arse!
