2200 is the project of Rory McPike who's better known as Melbourne dance music producer Dan White. 2200 is an industrial style project that reworks dance tracks into beat-less, almost dub style, ambient version of themselves. As 2200 Rory has released some material on Altered States Tapes and Cult Trip Records, including the track 'Killed By Deaf". 

This mix reworks three tracks into beat-less, almost dub style, ambient versions of themselves.

The world I had been living in where was it heading , how would it change like this ? That was completely strange .

We are living in an era without heroic death .
There is no state of tension that living is based on dying .
There are no "great causes" .

I only had a strange blank feeling bypassing emotions .

Though the world was supposed to collapse , still the trees , the green around was bathing in the thick light of summer .
That was completely strange .

Human lives are mysterious, in that human beings are not strong enough to live and die just for themselves .
It is because human beings always think of living for some kind of ideal and they soon get bored of living just for themselves .
It is because of this that the need to die for something arises .

(the idea )that death will come sometime and when I was thinking that it would come in near future , that psychological state , compared now , was happy .
That is actually a strange thing , but in my memory , it does not just look beautiful .
Human beings , in those moment , strangely become happy .

something more honorable , something for a cause is how I would like to die .
And living thinking these things I think I will probably die on a Tatami mat .
There are no `great causes` .

It seemed to continue as an era of peace and security, but there is no drama . ( there are no "great causes ". )

Modern people can no longer die dramatically .
( there are no "great causes ". )
You might call this the boredom of living .

I think it is natural for me to find it obscene for human beings to live only for themselves .
If we can not find values that go beyond thinking just for ourselves in our minds , we might come to think it to be meaningless to go on living .

Samurai  had to choose death first in sink or swim situations .
It is because of this that the need to die for something arises .
That need is the "great cause " that talked about in the past samurai .
Dying for "great causes"  was considered the most glorious , heroic , or brilliant way of dying .

However , there are no " great causes " now .

So , I will die like a bee inside a cell in a hospital room .
( there are no "great causes ". )
