Simone est un voyage sonore qui oscille entre power electronics et ambient mélodique. Sur la scène club, elle pousse les limites avec des sonorités acid, break et bass, livrant des sets à la fois intenses et hypnotiques. Dans sa série “Stories by Simone”, elle façonne des récits immersifs, jouant avec la perception à travers une narration sonore unique.

The world is falling apart and there is a general feeling of hopelessness. we are watching a genocide in Gaza and the normalization of violence and horror. it's a moment of grief. This mix called ‘Cio Da Terra’ was recorded immediately after the results of the elections in portugal. the right wing and the fascists had a historical victory. the feeling was one of general sadness, anger and revolt. when i recorded this mix, i was in the middle of this hangover, navigating between different emotions. i tried to find strengh and hope, remembering my friends and all the solidarity gestures around me, all the love that we can still feel, the connection with the land and its roots. grief also means transformation. in these dark times, we need to keep remembering, celebrating and invoking the spirits of the land, the healing power of our connections, and we need to take care of each other.

i started the mix with eliane radigue, forever and always my muse, deep inspiration, she always guide me in dark and confusing times. i also chose tracks of my friends - Tiago Sousa, Fidju Kitxora, Menino da Mãe - and people that i admire. I recently discovered this beautiful song of Belita Palma, with a poem of Agostinho de Neto (important figure in the movements of decolonisation in Africa), that deeply touched my heart. I end with the Mercedes Souza version of the song ‘cio da terra’, a story about harvesting each grain of wheat and forging the miracle of bread in wheat, "knowing the earth's desires / the earth's heat, the favourable season / and fertilising the ground".
