Argentina native Janax Pacha brings up the tempo with a more dance floor friendly track. AMA-ZONA has a slow-burning tribal feel which wouldn’t sound out of place at any point of a set, paying homage to the Amazonian rain forest. In his own words “Ama" is to Love - "zona" means Zone - Lets respect and take care of the world's nature by caring for and respecting our Own Nature. Our love zone is the heart just as Amazona is one of the largest hearts of our natural world and planet. The voice of our heart is the voice of nature. Hear it. Respect it. Let it Sing.”

Ecuadorian born Joaquin Cornejo’s KOMOREBI serves as an excellent introduction to the label, with emotive sounds and soulful lyrics creating a beautifully peaceful track. This is a song built around almost forgotten vocal recordings of the amazing English singer Wabi Sabi and resampled old magnetic tape recordings that make up the rich textural background.

Brazilian Ibu Selva brings us TAPARENDY, created as a means to evoke communication and dialogue between himself and the Guarani-Kaiowá indigenous people from the rural outskirts of Brazil. This fierce downtempo groove is a mix of digital culture & form, producing a futuristic melancholy sound that reflects on Selva's ancestry as well as the uplifting landscapes of his home country.

Argentinian resident Silvio Astier introduces us to the record with the aptly named ’Santa Maria del Buen Ayre’ - the former name of his hometown Buenos Aires. Easing us in with a wonderfully atmospheric piece, carefully mixing simple percussion patterns with his own well-crafted luscious guitar work.

Next up, we have Japan native/Berlin resident Kotoe continuing the flow of downtempo sounds that slowly settle us into this compilation. ‘Ondami’ conjures up images of a distant dream… the floating vocals and echoing chimes capable of drifting the listener to a place of blissful escapism.

If you haven’t already peaked with the previous offering, Brazilian native El Peche wraps things up nicely with track ‘Rastro De Fogo’ (ft. Mari Branco). Tripped out vocals phase in and out as the track is dominated by a tight bassline before delicate keys bring in a softer element to finish.

Prepare yourself to travel through sounds of both ancient times and futuristic dreams.

Ancient Future - At the centre piece of this track is the use of samples of the "Ghuzeng", a Chinese plucked Zither instrument. A fusion of ancient and future tones have been beautifully melded to create a new way forward whilst honouring the past. Inspired by his travels throughout several Asian countries, this track, in particular, highlights Captures' experiential sensations of the far East. Channeling settling, calm, and mystical vibrations that resonate deep into a different time.

Following in the wake of our first compilation series comes our premier solo project offering. We are very excited to showcase the beautifully unique and emotive music of the multi-instrumental, multi-dimensional producer 'Captures'. Often heard floating throughout the ethereal planes, we've managed to reel him in just in time to provide a 4-track EP of deep grooves inspired by the far East. Prepare yourself to travel through sounds of both ancient times and futuristic dreams.

Shinrai (Trust) - Shinrai translates to ‘trust’ in Japanese. From a young age, Captures has been inspired by Japanese culture and anime. Shinrai draws from these influences, combining Eastern percussion with playfully psychedelic sounds and delicate sprinkles of Latin percussion. This piece strikes the perfect balance between both a mind-enriching and body-moving experience. Trust the journey.

Ancient Future - At the centre piece of this track is the use of samples of the "Ghuzeng", a Chinese plucked Zither instrument. A fusion of ancient and future tones have been beautifully melded to create a new way forward whilst honouring the past. Inspired by his travels throughout several Asian countries, this track, in particular, highlights Captures' experiential sensations of the far East. Wobble Theory - As we enter the latter half of this musical journey, the tempo picks up as wobbling and pulsing bells bend and push through the core of the track. Meanwhile, funk-laden bass lines help to create a raw and powerful push that infiltrates the body and helps the listener to tap into their primitive and insatiable desire to dance.

Stirring Spells - Closing the EP, Captures offers us Stirring Spells which combines Latin rhythms with arpeggiated synths and a heavy groove to bring fancy footwork to the dance-floor. All the while, echoes of Japanese choirs and airy, bubbling synths merge to create a wonderfully blissful level of depth and kaleidoscopic visions. This creates an unparalleled blend of dreamy ambience with a pure and powerful driving energy.

After his deep nature, consciously inspired contribution to our first release on Earthly Tapes 01, Janax Pacha returns with that jungly vibe again bringing you ‘El Caracol’. Translating to ‘The Snail’, the 4-track EP comprises two tempo shifting interpretations of a journey through vibrating mystical woodlands plus two re-works by Andi Otto and Carrot Green.

Slowly pulsating through a surreal and tripped out space, on the title track and EP opener ‘Caracol’, Janax Pacha effortlessly infuses South American indigenous wind instruments and distorted chimes with a deep chugging bassline to create a deep and introspective piece.

Raising the tempo whilst still retaining the obscurity of the EP opener, ’Sin Fin’ endlessly pushes the title track into dancier regions. With added momentum, it manages to strike the perfect balance between introspection and a more hedonistic, party-driven focus. 

Andi Otto, provides the first remix of two. With added drive to the original created by extra depth of bass and emphasis on snappy percussion, the remix sits nicely somewhere between both ‘Caracol’ and ‘Sin Fin’.

To complete the journey, EM contributor Carrot Green produces a funky off-kilter break-beat effort. Keeping the elements of the original but with an added twist of unpredictability and pure danceability, this remix sees ‘Sin Fin’ being pushed deeper into a wormhole of obscurity.
