This EP takes a blend of my current and older sound, with each track being tried and tested in my sets. Heavy basslines and hip housey rap lines dominate 'Self Destruction' and 'Put Ya Hands Up'. Malfunktion by Kinay is driven by a strong, relentless rhythm – precise, hard, almost machine-like. Yet above this raw energy float soft pads, acting as a counterweight: warm, breathing, fragile. Between these two poles unfold glitches and disturbances, fragmenting the sound without ever fully breaking it.
What emerges is a constant tension – a balance of control and chaos, structure and drift. Each repetition carries small fractures, each detail feels like the echo of a larger disruption.
Malfunktion is not an outburst but a process: a state of endurance, of being continuously propelled forward. Rhythm as engine, pads as breath, noise as the reminder that perfection is always fragile.
