Kai Rodriguez debuts on Hottrax with two punchy cuts across his ‘Undaground’ EP. 

An imprint known for releasing quality material from established artists including East End Dubs and Christian Burkhardt, through to surging talents such as SOSA, Mason Collective and Wheats, Jamie Jones’ Hottrax continues to uncover new music from all corners of the house scene. Continuing their push for discovering fresh talent, December welcomes the addition of a new name as Northampton-based DJ/producer Kai Rodriguez prepares his biggest release to date with two rhythmic grooves across his ‘Undaground’ EP. 

Leading with rattling percussion, robust kicks and enticing vocal chants, ‘Undaground’ reveals an energetic opening production, while ‘POWR’ welcomes an up-front, no-nonsense production via snaking hats, distorted beats and pulsating basslines.

Label head Riley takes the floor for the imprint's inaugural release - the Liverpool talent steps up with three hard-hitting rollers across his It's Like That EP. The title track kicks things off with rolling sub-bass and choppy vocals, whilst Northern Selecta weaves carribean-influenced vocal samples with subby undertones. Rounding off the EP, Received Location (4AM Mix) adds a Deep House touch that wouldn't seem out of place on dancefloors in the early hours of Sunday morning.

BNRY001 RILEY (UK) - It's Like That (Original Mix)

Tamango Records' upcoming reference comes from young enfant-prodige Nathan Alzon: if we are to speak of rising talents, he's definitely one to look out for. The French-Taiwanese artist lands on the label for the first time with the classy and sleek 'Heartbreaker' EP, which follows previous releases on NO ART, What NxT, and Deeperfect. On the remix side, we welcome Spaniard revelation Rendher, who provides one of his gloomy, rolling numbers.

Closing the EP, Barcelona-based groover Rendher heads to stripped-back territories, twisting the original into a heads-down hammering tune. His remix features tight harsh grooves and booming bass tones, providing an essential late-night pumping jam.

Delivering club-focused cuts built for bustling terraces, sparse main rooms and busy basements across the club, Solid Grooves' sister imprint Solid Grooves Raw continues to serve up release after release of must-have material in circulation amongst the record boxes of the scene's biggest names.

Next, Malaga-based DJ and producer Ignacio Morales steps up for his first release on the label as he reveals his new single, 'With Age Comes Wisdom'. A shuffling, bouncy cut packed full of swing, 'With Age Comes Wisdom' brings a bubbly, nuanced groove that carries ricocheting percussion hits and rich stabs deep into the late night hours.

Take Notes' second release features our young gun Brad Brunner taking the lead on the slick yet scratchy 'Step ASide' EP. His appearances at massive stages like Sunwaves and SAGA - plus releases on Deeperfect and Bamboleo - are just another testament to Bucharest's rising talent pool. The EP also comes served with a remix by the unstoppable Cuartero.

'Step ASide' brings a razor-sharp vibe of thundering kicks, catchy hip-hop vocals, rumbling low-end, and rousing pace. The Spaniard king of groove, Cuartero, adds his signature style into a remix full of catchy glitches, hook basslines, and an all-around booming main room vibe. Some floating arpeggios and extra-tight grooves round the EP off on the titled 'Drummer Boy', with Brad's future classic edgy sound, clean percussions and mesmerising atmospherics.
