MAF MIX is our new project with our Luhansk-born friend Kyrylo B., also known as Chris Gottschalk - DJ and promoter, co-founder of UM LAUT event series in Leipzig.

It is a series of curated podcasts aiming to fight the underrepresentation of diverse artists from Eastern Europe sharing anti-imperialist values and facing modern challenges not on the dancefloors only.

We are thrilled to share the first podcast made by bodyasick — an independent music producer and DJ from Mykolaiv — a city in the south of Ukraine. Currently located in Poznań, he is known not only as a unique artist but also as a runner of a charity initiative RIDNE.MP3.

Bogdan Kuzmin is mostly recognized by his passion for groovy breaks, robotic synths and liminal percussions. This sound philosophy is brought to you by the selection of tracks written only by Ukrainian producers in this podcast as well. 

Events hosted by Oramics, Orbitrax, MAF and many others have already heard Bodya’s exceptional sound, with even more yet to come.

Алексей Борисов, студент исторического факультета МГУ, создает свою первую группу Проспект в 1981 году; вдохновленные летними посиделками на столичных кухнях, они с друзьями играют легкую гитарную музыку с оглядкой на западную «новую волну». Группа распадается в 1984 году, чтобы через год вернуться на сцену в обновленном виде, уже как Ночной Проспект. К Борисову присоединяется энтузиаст электронной музыки и коллекционер редких синтезаторов Иван Соколовский, а новое звучание группы совершает плавный переход в «сумеречную зону» индастриала и тягучего синти-попа. Под новой вывеской коллектив записывает и издает несколько концептуальных, новаторских альбомов, работая с важными деятелями советского авангарда — например, Жанной Агузаровой, — после чего Борисов и Соколовский решают сфокусироваться на сольных проектах.  
	В 1986 году музыканты воссоединяются на студии Борисова на Проспекте Вернадского, чтобы записать единственный инструментальный альбом в дискографии группы, «Курорты Кавказа». Главные инструменты на записи — перкуссионная драм-машина, звуки которой придают альбому несколько афро-карибский, «тропический» характер, а также редкие синтезаторы: от советского «Фаэми» до итальянского «Бонтемпи». Альбом получит противоречивые отзывы и останется непонятым современниками, во многом из-за того, что звучит слишком странно и нетипично, даже для самих участников дуэта.  Запись так и не будет издана официально, эти композиции ни разу не сыграют вживую. Вскоре после своего появления на свет «Курорты Кавказа» уберут подальше в архив и забудут, а музыканты переключатся на создание более монументальных произведений — например, своих культовых «Кислот». 
	Спустя 33 года после записи «Курорты Кавказа» издаются впервые.

In 1981, Alexei Borisov, a history student at the Moscow State University, formed his first band Prospekt (Avenue), drawing inspiration from kitchen table talks and new wave music coming from the West. They broke up in 1984 and 
a year later Borisov joined forces with Ivan Sokolovsky, 
an electronic music enthusiast and a connoisseur of rare synthesizers, to introduce the new and «updated» version of the band. By becoming Notchnoi Prospekt (Night Avenue), Borisov and Sokolovsky started moving towards industrial music and viscous, psychedelic synth pop. 
	In 1986, after a few conceptual, revolutionary albums 
as Notchnoi Prospekt, various solo projects and collaborations, the duo reunited in the studio to record their only 
instrumental album «Kurorty Kavkaza» (Resorts of the Caucasus). Built around the hypnotic meshing of afro-caribbean drum machine percussion and vintage Soviet and Italian synthesizers' vivid sonic palette, the resulting record was something that was absolutely different from Borisov and Sokolovsky's dark signature sound and wasn't well 
received both by the public and underground scene. Until now, these tracks were never released and Notchnoi Prospekt never performed them live. Shortly after the recording session the duo focused on a return to their industrial roots that resulted in a number of monumental albums including «Kisloty» that became an instant underground classic. 
	«Kurorty Kavkaza» lay dormant and forgotten for decades, and thirty three years after its recording, it gets the deserved official release.
