Jansons returns to Circus Recordings with the infectious house anthem "Medicine" feat. Dope Earth Alien. Following his 2019 debut on Circus Recordings with the massive ‘Switch’, Jansons quickly established himself as one of the most exciting UK producers on the scene and continues to demonstrate his ability to deliver dancefloor-focused house music. His latest track "Medicine" is no different.

Accompanying Jansons on ‘Medicine’ are the vocals of familiar collaborator and Toronto-based singer-songwriter, Dope Earth Alien. With her signature sound echoing over the track, she layers fun vocal lines over Jansons bass and percussion-laden production.

Following up one of the standout tracks of 2019, ‘Switch’ dominated the dancefloors of clubs and was a regular feature in the record bags of artists such as Marco Carola and Honey Dijon, as well as receiving a number of spins from Annie Mac and Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1’s Dance Music shows.

Embedding himself amongst a new-wave of underground house artists, Jansons has regularly appeared on Radio 1’s Dance Music shows alongside a number notable releases on labels such as Knee Deep In Sound, FourThirtyTwo and Hot Creations. He’s also performed at venues and festivals such as Fabric, Hideout, BPM and Warehouse Project. With career-defining releases such as ‘Medicine’ on the horizon, 2021 promises to propel Jansons further into the spotlight.

From early rave days to international club phenomenon, Seb Zito’s rise up the electronic music ranks began in the hustle and bustle of London’s pirate radio scene. An integral part of Enzo Siragusa’s Fuse family since the party’s inception, Seb has established himself as one of the UK’s best-loved talents thanks to iconic productions on Fuse, Kaoz Theory and many more besides. Now, 2021 looks set to be a career milestone with the release of his debut album Truth In My Steps, out on Eats Everything’s Edible this April.

Speaking on the release, Seb discussed how the tracks reflect his musical journey, stating: “All of my experiences are portrayed in this album. From pirate radio to some of the biggest clubs in the world, from raver to DJ. They represent what’s great about both UK club culture and the UK sound. I think the UK is the pulsating heart of electronic music, you only have to look at what’s come from here… hardcore, jungle, garage, dubstep and grime. I wanted to incorporate all of these sounds to tell my story... The Truth In My Steps.”

Mission FM marks the first step in Seb’s musical voyage, showcasing his early dance floor days with old skool rave themes throughout. Got That Vibe comes next, upping the tempo with four-four snare patterns and infectious vocal hooks before Bad Bwoy takes on a darker edge, unfolding with stripped-back, breaks-inspired tones. 2am Lover soon takes the lead, a feel-good, vocal-driven cut of UKG that swiftly changes the LP’s soundscape, paving the way for the rough and raw One Finger Skank. Pairing staggered percussion against an iconic Ferris Bueller sample, the seven-minute number feels ripe for the late-night hours, opening nicely into the airy breakbeat sounds of Notting Hill.

Come On takes on a more robust feel, with punchy kick-hat combos paired against mysterious vocal samples, whilst What’s This Seb? helps epitomise his journey through music with clear grime and dubstep influences. Charlie’s Gaff arrives next, a low-slung, minimal-laced house cut that features Seb’s signature dubby sound throughout before Mans From London ups the pace once more. Acting as the penultimate track in the UK-talent’s musical saga, it’s a fiery piece of drum and bass that takes no prisoners, leading perfectly into the album’s closing track, Let It Never Go. Melding elements of jungle and breakbeat against the two-step sounds of house and garage, the five-and-a-half-minute number brings things to a rounded close, showcasing the full breadth of Seb’s production capabilities in the process.

With a well-travelled history already under his belt, Truth In My Steps represents a culmination of all Seb’s musical influences. Be it the two-step flavours of 2am Lover that represent his early dancefloor days, or the minimal-toned Charlies Gaff that highlights his signature dubby sound, Seb’s maiden album acts as a handbook for all his past experiences, giving us an insight into the scenes and cultures that have moulded his style into what it is today.

National Geordie treasure Richy Ahmed is undoubtedly an original brother and integral cog in the Hot Creations machine and since his emergence alongside the crew and subsequent blowing up of the scene, Richy has become one of the most sought after and hard­working DJs on the circuit. Now honing his production skills to a fine point, it’s no surprise he’s been showcasing on the label, with last years ‘The Drums’ smashing through on all fronts. Richy is now bestowed with the honour of helming the pinnacle 50th release for the ever ubiquitous label. ‘The Bells’ part 1 & 2 ­ already championed by Skream on BBC Radio 1 ­ is a bass driven banger centered around the hypnotic percussive groove.

Launched in 2010 and co­owned by Jamie Jones and Lee Foss, Hot Creations is the
ground­breaking independent dance imprint that’s gained global notoriety in recent years through pioneering a new and unique sound born of it’s founders deep affinity with old disco records and soulful funk. 2013 saw the duo take their label to even greater planes upon the major label release of their band Hot Natured’s truly unique debut album and the label continues to nurture and champion a host of incredible homegrown and
overseas talent such as Digitaria, Greg Pidcock, Miguel Campbell, Robert James, wAFF and of course Richy Ahmed. 

In summer 2012, the crew launched the weekly Paradise events in Ibiza DC10, now in its third year and one of the current highlights on the island.

Richy has always played an integral part in the label, ranging from A&R to residencies at the global Hot Natured and Paradise events. Having since made an impact at some of the world’s best clubs and festivals including, Sonar, Tomorrowland, Glastonbury, Bestival, Panorama bar and London institution fabric, Richy has continually proved himself as an unequivocal party starter.

Armed with an individual sound that fuses the energy of house and disco with infectious funk­inspired grooves and a touch of dark, Richy’s distinct style has always been championed by heavyweights in the game such as Jamie Jones, Damian Lazarus, Clive Henry and Seth Troxler. 2013’s ‘The Drums’ was Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune and gained widespread support among all the Radio 1 taste makers including Annie Mac, Danny Howard,and Rob Da Bank. As well as a host of massive remixes for the likes of Katy B on Columbia, Phil Kieran on Hot Flush, Michael Janson on Resonance Records, Richy also had a major coup curating the Rinse: 23 compilation to wide critical acclaim, cementing Richy’s status in the nu school elite.
