The age of sonic medicine continues to unfold in the shape of Poranguí and Liquid Bloom’s landmark curative music collection, ‘Kuya Sessions: Cura.’ Created as an aural container for the cutting-edge frontiers of psychedelic-assisted therapy, this extrasensory journey invites listeners to cross the threshold into the realm of shadow and light, uniting the principles of indigenous wisdom, plant medicine, and holistic psychology with the world-bridging potential of cinematic sound design.

Designed for Kuya, a state-of-the-art health clinic in Austin, TX that is incorporating paradigm-shifting therapeutics, integrative psychiatry, and regenerative medicine into a visionary approach to trauma processing and healing, ‘Cura’ offers seekers a soundtrack for their journeys toward rebalancing, and is now lovingly shared with listeners everywhere on behalf of Kuya and producers Amani Friend and Poranguí.

Embedded with the sonic signature of the world’s oldest musical lineages and enhanced with field recordings and samples from across the globe, ‘Kuya Sessions: Cura’ is best experienced in its “Journey Mix” format, where the boundaries between movements are as ephemeral as the voyage itself. In preparation for embarking on this ritualistic path, one is invited to create an environment for inner-exploration with the help of a quiet and dark room, headphones, an eye mask, and an intention of healing and discovery. 

The first installment in this four-part release series, ‘Cura’ draws upon a grounding array of instruments, vocalizations, and therapeutic musical stylings while showcasing Poranguí and Amani Friend’s tenacity for surreal, multi-dimensional sound. Poranguí’s “Walk in Beauty,” from his acclaimed 2023 Beauty Way album, is reimagined through a masterful remix by Yemanjo. Rooted in Poranguí’s live-recorded Brazilian Batucada rhythms, West African ngoni, acoustic guitar, and soul-stirring vocals, the remix honors the original’s organic essence while weaving in deep electronic textures. Yemanjo’s production brings a fresh, rhythmic pulse to the song, creating a dynamic soundscape that carries its heartfelt message forward: a call to live in harmony with each other and the Earth.

Releasing as part of Beauty Way Remixes on April 11, 2025, this track stands as a centerpiece of the global remix album, which features producers from around the world. Yemanjo blends lead synth melodies and dance-driven grooves with the song’s organic roots, amplifying its timeless themes of connection, healing, and beauty in a way that resonates with today’s shifting world. While Poranguí’s live performances remain fluid and improvised, the remix’s spirit will flow through his international tour, including a main stage appearance at Colours of Ostrava. Divine Mother: She is a womb centred woman, who has surrendered open to the Divine flows of Divine Mother, father God Goddess.

 The Lover: Her erotic intelligence has lined up with Divinity. Her inner Aphrodite is in her temple and she is not leaking he sexual power. 

The Wild Women: Kali is the aspect of our shakti our erotic energy that is the fire of transformation. She is the current of liberation that can travel through our bodies and chakras purifying and clearing all the stuckness all the numbness if we have the courage to feel.

The Priestess: She has passed the initiation of the priestess, her devotional heart has cracked open and she has found the deep stillness and presence of the priestess and embodies her inner feminine and inner masculine as one ecstatic alchemical flow of creation. 

The Wise Women: The wise woman leads as her voice of authority and she leads through her kind heart. She is a womb centred woman and her voice echoes her instinctual wisdom and deep heart knowing.

Shakti Queen: She is a queen for she is not afraid to be seen in her vulnerability or her power. She shines her radiant light upon all beings she touches. The Queen is an ecstatic devotee of Divine and her life is lived through the heart in service and in surrender to Love.

"Andrew and I (Marc) are grateful to play a small part in this project. We’re excited about the beautiful work East Forest has brought together to honor the teachings of Ram Dass.

We chose the piece 'Dark Thoughts' because of our own struggles with darkness. Ram Dass doesn’t sanitize or romanticize this darkness, he just observes it. Almost deviously, he says, “You love your dark thoughts…” Reminding us that sometimes, we just want to be left alone to entertain our darkness. Eventually we will emerge from it. Sadly, sometimes we may emerge 'more dead than alive’ as Ram Dass so succinctly wrote years ago in a letter to two grieving parents after the murder of their eleven year old daughter. Nevertheless, we emerge and because of the darkness, we are once again grateful for light. Thank you for your light, Ram Dass."
