Following up on their first fruitful collaboration from 2019 yielding the „Push It To The Limit“ fruit, QO & Trilo have teamed up again in the studio to deliver a worthy successor.

Kicking things off with an electrifying intro full of pulsating pads and vicious riffs, you can already feel things are gonna get nasty as soon as the massive kick drums make their way into the mix. But it’s very much like knowing something is out there waiting for you. What good does it really make when you don’t know when and what is actually gonna strike you, right? And as much as you were expecting it and trying to prepare for it, you couldn’t have get yourself ready to face such a face-melting beast of a drop that jumps at you here.

Dirty menacing bassline, militant drums and all kinds of foul growls are the name of the game here. And if that already wasn’t enough for you and you would somehow miraculously make it through the first attack, just you wait for it to come back at you again.

This beast is hungry and it’s not gonna give up, so you just might as well „Turn It Up“!

Darkness had crept over the forest silently, encroaching as the daylight’s shadows had grown longer over the course of the passing year. Its splendorous glades were overgrown with underbrush that twisted and grabbed at the feet of any who dared tread within the wood. Leaves fell from the trees out of season, not golden with the beauty of their age but blackened with an insidious blight that spread through the poisoned insects of the land. In their place, silken spiderwebs crisscrossed the branches of the forest, shimmering under the moonlight with an eerie beauty that masked their true purpose. Deep within these woods, an ancient arachnid evil had awoken, and its appetite for the forest’s creatures was voracious and all-consuming. 

So it was that one of the forest’s most stalwart defenders had become trapped in the webs that had enshrouded her home, her gossamer wings weighed down by the ichor that lined the finely wound threads. As she struggled against these restraints, her fluttering movements reverberated down the web’s strands and summoned the great arachnid beast that lay cloistered at its heart. Of all the forest creatures, the sprites that had once infused the wood with their magic were its most prized prey. With each that it consumed, it came ever closer to full dominion, and their lithe bodies coursed with a vitality that the beast found most satisfying to consume. 

Yet the sprite knew of the spider’s hunger for her kind, and in her struggle for freedom she had steeled herself for its immanent approach. As the eighth of the beast’s many eyes began to peer around a nearby tree, she drew upon every reserve of magic that still lay within the now-accursed wood. With a flash of viridian light, she burst from the web and conjured in her hand a sword of pure primal energy that gleamed emerald against the darkness of the wood. The monstrous spider had ruled over this twisted realm for far too long. The true forest, her forest, was COMING BACK. As she charged in flight towards the arachnid behemoth before her, she swore upon her emerald blade that she would make it so.

Deep within the earth inside of a burrow that lay beneath a fetid swamp rested a creature tasked with putrescent rebirth, the horrifying beauty that sprouted forth from rot & decay. The milky ochre color of its hide was covered in a thin layer of mucus that, were there light in its subterranean lair, would glisten and shimmer as the creature slithered throughout the earth. The guttural grunts produced by the creature's hulking form echoed forth with a distinctly wet accent, squelching forth from between its mandibles as though mud beneath the tread of a boot. 

Indeed, though mud had the creature begun to burrow, filter-feeding upon the microorganisms and decaying plant matter that seeped through the soil. It had been awakened, for the first time in many centuries, by the hunger that drove it to serve in the divine duty that had been bestowed upon it a millennia ago. As it had slept, that which lived above had languished beneath the sun’s rays and grown decadent, thus ladening itself with the first stage of decay. The sweetest, ripest fruit was, after all, always the one closest to becoming rotten, and so was the fate of all living things in due time. The beast had consumed a wide variety of such rotten beings in its time - trees that had grown too tall, beasts that had grown too fat, fungi that had spread their spores too wide. To the grub’s all-consumptive hunger, the makeup of its meal mattered not. All dissolved equally within its many-chambered digestive system. Thus, as it broke through the surface earth that had lain above it for so long, the visions of steel and pink-fleshed creatures that greeted the creature gave it no hesitation. Through hunger, it had been called, and thus it would consume once more, that life may again be born anew where rot had begun to set in.

MOB TACTICS return to EATBRAIN and present DIRTGRUB // DUBBLE BUBBLE, their latest monstrous single filled with squelching sonics sure to set the myriad members of the EATBRAIN horde squirming on the dancefloor.

Much time had passed since the uprising of the demon kings had sprung forth from the ancient obelisk, bringing ruin to the great city that had been built around it. Yet more had passed since humanity had lost their homeworld to these malevolent creatures, who poured out from the monument with no other desire than to torture, pillage, and destroy. For years, all-out war had raged on the Earth’s surface and yet for all of humanity’s most valiant efforts, the killing of one demon had begotten only the rising of two more. In their final hour, those scant few who survived had fled to the stars, abandoning the wreckage of their beloved home. It was there that they maintained an uneasy existence above it, one tied to the sanctuary of a handful of meager orbital stations scattered amidst their solar system.

It was from these stations that they now watched in horror as a great celestial body rapidly entered their domain, its surface scarred by gargantuan visages of suffering and despair that protruded from its surface. As it neared the abandoned remains of their homeworld, the gravity well of the hellish sphere sucked its shattered pieces almost instantaneously inward as though feeding the horrific faces that marred its ochre hide. Though sound permeated not through the vacuum of space, the minds of all those who watched were split by a psychic scream of pleasure that emanated forth from the planet as though it were a living being. Then, as though sated by the life it had consumed, it began to drift back beyond the bounds of their solar system, completing the cycle of DIVERGENCE once more.

The depth of the forest was unknown to those who lived at its verge. Shadows cast from the dense canopy seemed to reach out towards those who passed close by, wisps of darkness unfurling and twisting around the limbs of the youngest that dared to play at its sinister edge. The oldest stories of its roots passed across the creaking voices of the town pensioners hunched in the safety of others, discretely whispered and shot through with fearful looks. The allure of that dense and ancient place stretched back eternal, and bitter consequence waited for those who breached its dark heart.  The crew ignored the nonsense of such crones, pulling the carts of equipment under the cover of dusk until the sounds of the town were but a memory. The speaker stacks were raised against the night, strings of lights hung between the trees and purity of disturbed bass rolled against the surrounding trunks as they disentangled themselves from the mundane fiber of the lives they left behind. Twisting against one another as they let flood serotonin delight, they ignited an orgy of sonic symbiosis as the rave found its wings and took flight. The spores drifted imperceptibly into the clearing from the darkness around, lodging without discomfort in the eyes, ears and noses of the gathered young. And then the screaming started, the undulating mass of the gathering turned inward… devouring itself as limbs were separated from bodies, necks ripped as skin tore loose and the blood flowed freely over the gnashing faces of those left alive at the KILL PARTY…

Standing for five years of innovation, the ‘Go Nen’ LP from Santoku represents half a decade spent by its label head crafting its most innovative releases. Deep within the core of their sprawling annex, The Institution’s top minds worked diligently at their insidious craft. Their hands moved swiftly, as they worked relentlessly with the sharp tools of their mind; warping words, images, and sounds to fit their malevolent narrative. Their objective was singular, complete control exercised from the shadows, profits reaped from beyond the veil of obscurity. Trust, that most hallowed principle, was nothing to them but a tool of manipulation, exercised to to legitimize their empire. The plan was simple, a classic diversion operated on a massive scale. The creation of an enemy, the eternal outsider, one against whom the public must remain vigilant. Composed of a paradox, the outsider posed no threat, yet could never be vanquished. Instead, his reputation and the shadow of his fearful influence would loom as a spectre, a shade of darkness designed to haunt the masses. Their fear would drive them into the protection of The Institution, shepherded in the manner of livestock. From there, the extension of their complete control would be assured. The machinations of its minds completed, The Institution began its program of domination in full, disseminating its precisely produced PROPAGANDA amongst the public.

Their message was erected upon the walls of their great city, proliferated throughout the mailboxes of its citizens, and across the webpages of it their tightly controlled digital network. Their message spread with viral efficiency. The citizens’ response was sublimely realised, a surge of fear through the populace, shepherding them into the arms of The Institute as they sought security in the face of the threat birthed in pure imagination. Security, The Institution was more than happy to provide; promising strength in the face of the mysterious menace. The Institution’s agents felt the power of their positions strengthen throughout the city, soon holding its highest offices in their grip, putting greater tools of control in their hands. Initiatives were passed, laws enacted, and the vaults of the city drained. The streets were the conduit of their fear, their PROPAGANDA campaign continuing in the fearful whispers of the citizens carrying the fear of The Outsider’s presence. The cycle was set, justification freely given out of fear. The Institute’s diabolic machinations ran as pure as the fear that coursed through the city.

The man pulling the strings behind the revered EATBRAIN imprint, JADE, returns for his second release of the year on his home label with the fiercely executed PROPAGANDA EP, featuring the veteran skills of RIDO. Following on from the much-acclaimed AWAKE EP, Jade powerfully demonstrates that he’s back in the studio and putting his veteran knowledge of what functions on the Eatbrain dancefloor to effective use. Having survived the treacherous path that now lay behind them, a group of ardent adventurers found themselves before the gates of a great temple, shrouded in mists atop the highest peak in their land. From within rang out a titanic voice that shook the earth with its every word, permeating the very souls of those who stood before the gate. “Hear me, supplicants to this temple” rang its initial call, “Know that you tread upon the grounds of Snake Monastery, and that you shall face many tests and trials should you seek to proceed in whatever quest hath brought you here. You now face the LAVA RUN, and should you hope to continue you must prove your worth.” These words the voice left to echo throughout the mountain peaks as the adventurers set to the task before with utmost resolve. Utilizing every ounce of their combined might, they heaved open the doors to the great temple, which shuddered open to reveal a most terrifying sight. Approaching unstoppably towards them was a boulder of titanic size, seemingly unseated from its pedestal by the gate’s monumental motion. With practiced synchronicity the adventurers sprang into action, preparing to meet the boulder head on in the midst of its fast approaching onslaught. Yet, at the last moment before their inevitable collision, one amongst the adventurers raised a single fist and struck with all of their might at the boulder’s core. With nary a second remaining before it would have crushed the party beneath its incomprehensible mass, the boulder was reduced to naught but dust, and the path forwards through the temple lay open. “It seems you are indeed of the strength to continue,” came the voice from within “but brawn alone will not grant you admittance to the Snake Monastery’s inner sanctum. Continue further, if you are truly worthy, and face the next trial!”

What had once been but a small village had changed, coating itself in the metallic materials of a new age born of the prosperity that was wrought by its forebears, those who had bound demons in stone so many years ago. The elements of fire and brimstone with which such creatures once threatened the village now lay bound themselves, claimed and wielded as tools that had wrought the stairsteps of progress from the ruins of the city’s troubled past. As progress had waxed however, time waned, and few left still remembered the obelisk which lay hidden at the heart of their city, encased within a monument to victory over the realms’ more worldly foes. Within however, those foes of old had slumbered, keeping sharp the memories of their magical imprisonment. Outside, time had passed, and now arrived back to where it had once been. Thus with the waking of the demons is stone, the time of DIVERGENCE did once again begin.

It began subtly, as the influence of the demons seeped out from the ancient obelisk, transforming the visages of the metallic heroes who were their former jailors into subtly more monstrous forms. From the obelisks dark and rotted core seeped a sinister demonic poison, and ichor that worked its way into dark places both familiar and new. With it came the demons, who slithered out of their forgotten prison and found refuge amidst the smoke and flame now welcomed by those who had forbade them long before. As their power and number grew, their essence enveloped the city, immersing it in a sea of acrid darkness that choked living beings and the light of the sun with equal tenacity. Caught within this abyssal miasma, the minds of the city’s inhabitants corroded as their bodies mutated into horrendous forms, a slow, grueling process that spared those affected not a single horror. As day and night ceased to pass within the haze that strangled the city, the demons emerged from their dark places, assuming their de facto rulership over the city which was now carved in their image. Thus it was again that the world of the living was changed, therein by the darkness from which DIVERGENCE came.

EATBRAIN continues their DIVERGENCE compilation series with DIVERGENCE III, bringing together a monstrous roster including a surprise last ever appearance by the legendary FOREIGN BEGGARS produced by KILLBREAK, and label veterans TELEKINESIS, AGRESSOR BUNX, MIZO, THE CLAMPS, DISPHONIA, IHR, L 33, NAIS, COD3X, LIVEON, KUTLO and novel additions DISASZT, SHADOW SECT, SCREAMARTS, CHASER. Concocting a vile sonic solution from the component tracks within, EATBRAIN sends their loyal horde onwards under the banner of DIVERGENCE, once again uniting artists new and old in their devastating audio assault.
