Deep within the old-growth wood, a primal ancestor stirred from its millennia-long slumber. Long adrift within the spiritual realms while its body remained in the stasis of hibernation, the beast returned only begrudgingly to corporeal form in response to the external stimuli that had roused it. As it did so, it slowly shook off the centuries of stalagmites that had formed upon its hide as it had dwelt in the cave that was its home, a once silent place wherein the only sound had come from the gentle drip of water off of the cave’s limestone walls. As the BEHEMOTH awakened,- however, it noticed the soundscape had changed drastically. A thrum, hum, and buzz could be heard echoing throughout the earth, and it was the search for the source of these sounds that dragged the beast reluctantly from the mouth of its underground dwelling.

As the BEHEMOTH emerged, it noted a colossal shift in the wood’s primal energies. So much had disappeared over its long period of hibernation, replaced by cold metal and unnatural stone structures that reverberated not with the warmth of life. Indeed, the cave that had once held the heart of the forest, at the entrance to which the beast now stood, was no more so at its geographic center than the new years saplings had once been. Enraged by this loss of its rightful hunting grounds, the beast bellowed out a mighty roar in warning to whatever forces had defiled such once-hallowed grounds. Slamming its paws into the earth, the beast brought summoned forth a shockwave that roiled through the rock before it, traveling as an unseen assault on the structures that lay below. Only a few seconds later the horizon resounded with a crack that echoed through the air, and the BEHEMOTH watched with joy as one of the nearby structures collapsed into a pile of stone and steel. As it lumbered forwards to join the fray of this destruction, it had but one thought on its mind. It would make this sacred place silent once more.

AKOV returns to EATBRAIN with his latest 4-track EP, BEHEMOTH, which brings to bear a selection of sonic sequences that are anything but what their title suggests as they bombard the ears of the EATBRAIN horde. Bristling with the results of the artist's completely unrestrained approach to sound design, BEHEMOTH delivers a devastating deluge of primal Neurofunk energy as the much-lauded label veteran makes his return to the fore of the EATBRAIN horde.

Alone they stood upon the roof of the world, two minds interlocked beyond the realm of their origin. Delivered into this alternate reality as separate points of consciousness, the definition of their relative distinction was for a while their only grip upon the structures of the past. Staring across the infinite horizon over the edge of their plateau, the meaning of time itself was lost in the entropy of their incarceration. In that endless expanse, the fringes of their perception eroded – stark concepts reacting and evolving in the wake of a forgotten future, bearing fresh complexity as the branches of their minds intertwined. The remnants of the great battle lay strewn as shreds across the meadow, the multi-faceted carcass of a climatic moment of a conflict long forgotten. The remains of those who had fought for their respective worthless causes now overshadowed by the bleak visage of fate. Legends spoke of the battle as the only one known to have occured with no victor. Each warrior slain on one side was said to be repaid by the death of his equal on the other, as though the melee was arbitrated by some unnatural force. At the battle’s termination there remained none but the two great leaders of the factions, who continued their personal onslaught through the strength of their intense hatred alone. Amongst the corpses of their compatriots they dueled, equally matched in both skill and fury and finally, equally they fell, each slipping his opponent’s guard in the same instant, as both felt their sword plunge through the other’s heart. The place was twice cursed it was told, once by the unnatural force that had presided over the slaughter, and once by the slaughter itself. Unlike most of their kind, these legends held truth, for this field was the lair of the malevolent AGRESSOR.

The being had lurked there from time immemorial, its existence a relic of a long forgotten age. Condemned to this waste for its timeless aggression, it had lingered on beyond the disappearance of its kind. Its hunger for anguish lured countless warriors to its meadow, their conflict a delectable feast for the spirit unseen. From each fallen fighter was riven its emotion, strengthening the being as it continued to feed. The magnitude of the battle had sated it for some time, and it would slumber again through multiple ages of man until that hunger arose once again… and when it did, the DEATH MEADOW would lure souls afresh.

AGRESSOR BUNX returns to the EATBRAIN label following the summer’s assault of the Massacre EP, with the release of the DEATH MEADOW EP. A five track EP featuring their characteristic subgenre spanning style, with DEATH MEADOW being a masterclass in the AGRESSOR BUNX sound. DEATH MEADOW’s ominous and cinematic atmosphere introduces the EP with grandeur alongside a rapid fire drumbeat, whilst the sinister saws of OFFENSIVE back its bassline fueled audio assault. PARARAMPAM provides a boisterous combo of sonics that amplify its rowdy atmosphere, and is followed by the roaring bass of STEP IT TO THE FRONT which struts with full funk fueled effect. TIME TO ROCK closes the EP with a fusion of styles, its neurofunk assault slowed to a heavy halftime pace before charging forwards to the finish. With DEATH MEADOW, AGRESSOR BUNX continue to exhibit their skills in creating their unique synthesis of disparate DNB sounds.

The valley was a lush place, with flora and fauna of all types contained between its mountainous peaks. This way it had been for ages untold, and those who lived there wanted for not in their idyllic existence. Untouched they were by the world, hidden away in a pocket of paradise unknown to all others. Indeed, theirs was a blessed existence, but such gifts were a treasure that could not go unnoticed by all. On that fateful day, a shadow had passed the sun, and it was in the duration of this mid-day’s night that from high upon the mountain a thunderous roar did erupt. On a cold frigid wind came a new beast to the valley, with scales that glittered white as fresh fallen snow. Reptilian as it seemed, upon vermillion wings did it soar, and from its breath came the fury of deep winter’s hoar. It withered the forests that those who lived there called home, and those caught in its wake were frozen to the bone. Not even stone could stand against the great being’s wrath, and reduced to foundations were all buildings in its path. From within these ruins it plundered an invaluable hoard, taking the treasure of the valley’s great lord. With one final roar the beast then took to the skies, returning to the mountain from whence it came on high. Down below lay the valley, its inhabitants frozen firm, in fear under the shadow of that great ICY WYRM.

MIZO returns to EATBRAIN to debut his latest EP, which follows in the destructive wake of his Dust Devil EP on the label as well as further recent releases on labels including Neuropunk Records & C4C Recordings. Filled to the brim with the producer’s characteristic ferocious tones, the EP features a set of four tracks surging with serpentine basslines and deviously distorted sonics as MIZO leads the latest onslaught of the EATBRAIN horde from atop the eponymous ICY WYRM.
