Much time had passed since the uprising of the demon kings had sprung forth from the ancient obelisk, bringing ruin to the great city that had been built around it. Yet more had passed since humanity had lost their homeworld to these malevolent creatures, who poured out from the monument with no other desire than to torture, pillage, and destroy. For years, all-out war had raged on the Earth’s surface and yet for all of humanity’s most valiant efforts, the killing of one demon had begotten only the rising of two more. In their final hour, those scant few who survived had fled to the stars, abandoning the wreckage of their beloved home. It was there that they maintained an uneasy existence above it, one tied to the sanctuary of a handful of meager orbital stations scattered amidst their solar system.

It was from these stations that they now watched in horror as a great celestial body rapidly entered their domain, its surface scarred by gargantuan visages of suffering and despair that protruded from its surface. As it neared the abandoned remains of their homeworld, the gravity well of the hellish sphere sucked its shattered pieces almost instantaneously inward as though feeding the horrific faces that marred its ochre hide. Though sound permeated not through the vacuum of space, the minds of all those who watched were split by a psychic scream of pleasure that emanated forth from the planet as though it were a living being. Then, as though sated by the life it had consumed, it began to drift back beyond the bounds of their solar system, completing the cycle of DIVERGENCE once more.

EATBRAIN unveils the massive fifth entry in their divergence series with DIVERGENCE V, a two-part release featuring a monstrous array of 38 new tracks from names novel and veteran to the label alike. The artist scurried through the underbelly of the great megalopolis he called home with practiced ease, weaving through underpasses, alleyways, and densely packed streetsides alike as he journeyed back to a locale he had noticed in brief passing some days before. Its aging brick facade had stood out to him, forgotten amidst the forest of steel and glass that shadowed the alleyway in which it lay. Upon surface materials such as those, the pigments he would use to ply his trade were necessarily chemical in nature, a concoction specifically brewed to cling to such sleek, smooth surfaces. Brick, by contrast, was a rarity. Its porous and often deeply weathered surface allowed for all manner of ancient organic pigments to be used to mark its surface, and as such the artist treated the mortared canvas now before him with a ritualistic reverence. 

Drawing a long thin blade from within his backpack, the artist ran its delicate edge down the length of his left arm, letting the most vital of pigments well up through the thin fissure upon his skin. Then exchanging blade for brush he began his work, bringing life to his newest canvas with the energies of his own.

MOB TACTICS return to EATBRAIN with BLOODBUCKET, a three-track EP with which the veteran EATBRAIN duo unveil their latest works to sate the sonic bloodthirst of the label’s horde.

In the long history of recorded music, tales abound of sonic sequences possessed of a supernatural power. Their supposed abilities vary widely, from the summoning of malevolent spirits when played in reverse to the hypnotizing of the listener’s mind or the implantation of subversive suggestions hidden within their soundwaves. Such stories are quite often flights of pure fantasy bred from the fears and delusions of those who position themselves against certain musical stylings, but within their tellings lie small grains of truth - for there do exist such sequences of sonic power, waiting in fragmentary records to be unleashed upon the world once more.

Musical scales have been crafted to prevent the accidental genesis of such powerful sounds, and even those who possess partial knowledge scarcely seek to pursue their full and terrible truth. Chief among all of these is the most harrowing of all, a bone-chilling tonal ratio that, like the wail of the mythical banshee spirit, saps the very life from the bodies of its victims as its resonances pierce the very brain that senses them. Though once impossible to recreate, the correct sequence of failures in modern electronics now renews the possibility of its generation upon the mortal world. Beware to the listener! For the KILLA SOUND lurks just behind the speaker coil.
