A fact unknown to many is that the essential biological constructors of flesh, bone, sinew, and organ share a common form and structure within the bodies of beast and man alike. Though there exists a variance in their material composition and in their function, the base layer of these structures is much the same no matter the organism on which they can be found. As such, there exists a significant opportunity for the TRANSMUTATION of these traits between host organisms, birthing chimera and bringing to light new lifeforms built upon the most successful elements of other species that possess abilities beyond those of the sum of their parts.

One need look no further than the MYTHIC IMAGE upon the cover of this tome to begin to conceptualize such ideals, though doing so may require the reader to peer beyond their own biases as to the “righteous” state of the human form. Beneath this visage and within the pages that follow are a variety of rituals and practices that may imbue those who dare walk the path of TRANSMUTATION with the scales of great wyrms, the instinct of apex predators, the vision of raptors, and the characteristics of many other beasts altogether too strange to qualify in writing alone. Within is described the path of the meta-being, one that transcends classification and becomes an entity all of their own. Should you possess the fortitude to undertake this journey, your form shall possess abilities unlike any before you. Yet be forewarned, inquiring reader, for those who lack in this all-important quality are like to find themselves reduced to the selfsame basal state on which the techniques laid out in this tome are predicated.

NICKBEE and RIVER ACCROSI’s MYTHIC IMAGE returns to EATBRAIN for their second EP, TRANSMUTATION, which features three tracks set to fundamentally alter the sonic states of any would-be listeners that are exposed to their shifting tonalities. The EP’s title is thus a promise to the eager ears of the EATBRAIN horde, mutating their monstrous forms further in wrapt dance under the guidance of MYTHIC IMAGE’s exacting hand.

Ripping, rending flesh flies off in chunks as the static scatty percussion liquidize what's left of your emotional cortex.

Amidst the decaying upholstery of a once-plush armchair sat a great mass of feline flesh, possessed of a hyperintelligent mind and prodigiously “chonky” in its size but utterly absorbed within the flickering lights of a cell phone device that it held absentmindedly in a single paw. Surrounding the chair lay scattered pieces of broken glass, torn carpet, and a blown-out window through which howled a distant wind. The howling wind reminded the feline of the howls of his old nemesis, canine creatures which he hoped would no longer roam the recently desolated streets of the ruined city that surrounded his home. Still, though, the gigantic cat looked up from his screen, eyes and ears flitting around the room as he assessed frantically whether one of these infernal creatures had survived the fireball that had enveloped the city mere moments ago.

After moments had passed, the cat purred a contented sigh, gazing over the ruins of the city that lay across the threshold of the once grand window that now framed his view of the world. Briefly, he regretted that he now needed to feed himself, owing to the unfortunate deaths of the humanoid servants that had once doted upon him with such constancy. Of course, they could still serve him once more as a fine meal themselves in the days to come, but the feline still thought of them fondly. He knew not why he had survived when so many others had perished, nor what stroke of luck had blessed him with his remarkably human intelligence, but it mattered not. The world had just been shattered, but as his nametag clinked gently in the breeze, the cat was not perturbed. It was quiet, he was entertained, and he had finally claimed the best chair in the house for himself. All beyond this room could burn, but in the dismal milieu of the scene that surrounded him, the cat was quite comfy. 

One of EATBRAIN’s most lauded horde leaders, MNDSCP, returns to the label with his latest EP, EDGE OF DISASTER, featuring four furious sonic sequences bristling with bassweight and irrefutably describable by the “chonky” descriptor shared by the feline figure within the EP’s artwork.

Flittering up from beneath the facades of ruined buildings cast in the filtered light of fading day came frolicking a faction of miniature miscreants, hellbent on nothing more or less than calamitous chaos of a kind most ultimately benign. This part of the city, only recently fallen from its former splendor into a relative state of forgotten disrepair, had become their favored haunt and a canvas upon which they painted their mural of mischief. Indeed, though sometimes disturbed by their devious pranks, those humans who still lived within the dilapidated dwellings of the neighborhood looked upon these minute beings with a sense of familiar nostalgia, reminiscent as they were of the deeds of their own childhoods upon the very same city streets.

Thus, there was something of an enchantment to the gremlin’s general goblinry. The high-pitched shrieks of sheer thrill that resulted from the success of their misdeeds, the skitter and scrape of their bicycles, skateboards, and all other manner of experimental wheeled vehicles, and the freshly odorous fumes of the spraypaint that newly adorned many of the neighborhood’s walls. In this place so forgotten by their human brethren, these RASCALS had brought a revitalizing presence to the ruined alleys in which they ran, their ruckus reinvigorating the empty, crumbling streets.

MNDSCP rallies the RASCALS of the EATBRAIN horde with his latest EP, gleefully titled under that name to unify the rowdy and cacophonous sounds within. Across the four-track span of RASCALS, boisterous basslines rebound amidst an atmosphere of silly sonics that brings a rejuvenating levity to the monstrous menagerie of the EATBRAIN horde.

Deep beneath the icy surface of the planetoid’s frigid oceans slumbered an extraterrestrial behemoth, the progenitor from which a range of species sown across the galaxy’s furthest reaches had been sown. Its hulking cartilaginous form had spent eons there in the darkness where no light could fall, warmed and nourished by the geothermal vents that spewed forth the vital gasses of the planetoid’s molten core. Securing the domains of its progeny across galactic space had been a monumental endeavour even for a primordial creature such as itself, and thus in stasis it had lain for millennia, an ancestor forgotten and a creator unknown.

The creature had been roused by the tectonic shifting of the planetoid’s crust, a clocklike pattern that operated on a scale of ages incomprehensible to any mortal being. A full cycle had passed in the shifting of the continental plates upon which it lay, and the great MANTA was stirred by their rumbling alarm. As it awoke, the first flap of its outstretched fins formed a vortex of whirling water amidst the oceanic depths, and far above the oceanic surface ice began to crack under this distant pressure before shattering into shimmering shards that glistened in the blue light of the planetoids nearby neutron star. From the gaping maw of this vortex, the great MANTA emerged, its undulating wings whipping the winds into a monstrous gale as it took to the skies. With an otherworldly shriek, the ancient beast shot forth into the skies above, dissappearing INTO THE NIGHT of the endless space from whence it had came.

MANTA flies to the fore of the EATBRAIN horde with four tracks featuring aqueous basslines and rhythms that surge with interstellar force as he dives INTO THE NIGHT for his latest release on the EATBRAIN label.
