"Nu-disco newcomer Eau Claire is bringing Stevie Wonder's "Uptight" into the modern age. The original song was released almost 40 years ago, but the Washington, DC-based DJ/producer adds a thumping beat, infectious piano melodies and an array of synthesizers to the oldies jam to update it for today's dance floor.  

The track starts with an Oliver Nelson-esque backbeat before Stevie's lyrics about his romance with a high class woman come in. The piano jumps on top of the vocals, taking over the listener's ears and body. Synthesizer lines playfully bound around the lyrics before Stevie gets into his first chorus and second verse with a deep beat backing him up. Everything comes to a climax around the middle of the third minute, with Eau Claire daring her audience not to dance to the irresistible tune."

"D.C.-based DJ Eau Claire took the internet by storm earlier this fall with her remix of Stevie Wonder's 1966 hit, "Uptight," which has garnered the upstart over 100,000 listens on SoundCloud.  In her latest endeavor, she reaches back to the more recent past, putting a nu-disco spin on Mike Posner's 2010 smash, "Cooler Than Me."  The result is a welcome facelift that utilizes infectious piano riffs and elements of deep house music to transform Posner's song into a modern banger.

Shimmering synths and a deep beat lead the track before Mike Posner's torqued vocal samples come in, sounding at once squeaky and chipmunk-esque, and deep and demonic.  As in Eau Clare's mix of "Uptight," a huge, addictive piano hook takes the track over, bringing listeners to bliss.  As Posner's vocals become more fully formed (and eerie), deep laser-like synths drop in on top of the beat giving it the feel of a modern deep house hit.  We wouldn't expect anything less from a producer who cites SNBRN and Blonde's masterful remix of "Rhythm of the Night" by Corona as inspiration for her most recent work.  

Give the track a listen and, if you live in the D.C. area, check out Eau Claire as one half of Man &amp; Woman as she regularly opens for huge international house acts, including Duke Dumont and Chris Malinchak."

Without taking away from the emotion of her vocals, I wanted to rework Carla's single into a summer ready anthem.  After coming up with five different versions of "Killin' It" I landed on this final version when all the pieces came together into one cohesive track.

Washington DC based producer and DJ, Eau Claire, grew up as a classically trained pianist and has taken her penchant for the keyboard to the next level, creating a signature blend of house, nu-disco, and indie dance.  From the studio to the dance floor, Eau Claire has brought her feel-good sound and positive energy to clubs and festivals across North America.  She has received support from major music outlets including DJ Mag, Idolator/SPIN, Indie Shuffle, and LessThan3.  Her impressive repertoire of remixes has earned her several top 10 rankings on Hype Machine and over 3 million streams on Soundcloud.  Several of her remixes have been signed to well-respected labels including Warner Brothers Records and Atlantic.  In the Fall of 2016 Eau Claire announced the start of her own record label 'Feed Me Disco'  where she released her debut EP "All The Wonder" followed by a remix EP in early 2017.  Feed Me Disco has also become her signature mix series and recurring label party which she holds in major cities including Washington, DC, New York, and Los Angeles.
