Exactly one year after his 2021 release entitled 'The Electro Manifesto', DVS NME returns with a collection of new tracks that were produced between late 2021 and early 2022. This 25-track album is another thematic nod to class struggle with the hope to stir class consciousness in listeners. Every song title makes reference to some tenant of the destructive and unequal economic system called capitalism as well as its ever-looming shadow socialism. Even the album cover borrows inspiration from Soviet-era propaganda, re-adapting the artistic styles of many communist agitators. 

This album, as with the last, relies heavily on the sounds of classic Electro machines like Mono/Poly, MS-20, SH-101, Jupiter-8, Juno-106, SH-2, System 100, Juno 60, JX-3P, TB-303, Polysix, TR-606, OB-8, TR-808, ARP Odyssey, as well as some contemporary additions to his studio like Hydrasynth, System 8, MC-101, Prophet Rev2, Novation Peak, Minilogue, SE-02, and Microkorg.

DVS NME is the man behind the weekly radio show/daily blog called 'Dark Science Electro' and has been a dedicated contributor for the Electro community for the last 11 years. He shares his love of Electro music by posting Electro-affiliated news, art, mixes, albums, memes, concerts, tracks, gear, and more. This album is available for $15 USD

Jay Ellis (@jay2674)has played at various clubs around West Yorkshire like the Mint Club, Mission, and Space Leeds. He has also been DJ support for live shows for artists like Cybereign. He has been in love with Electro music since he was a school-aged lad in the 1980s. He dabbled with Rave in the 90's, got turntables, and immediately went back to his first love after listening to 'Don't Stop The Beat' by Anthony Rother and other classic tracks by the likes of Mr. Velcro Fastener and Dexter.

For this week's installment of @DarkScienceElectro we turn to Sweden, where we will be checking in with a long-time friend of the show Maschine Brennt (@thenander) 

55-year-old Joacim Thenander started producing music in the early 80s after the acquisition of a Yamaha CX-5m (the first computer to have a MIDI port built-in) and some hardware like the Korg MS20. He was a mainstay at local parties due to his large record collection and technical knowledge, having worked in a music instrument store. Though he hasn't performed as a DJ since 1994, he has stayed active as a digital DJ and amazing music producer. His wheelhouse for production resides in Electro, Industrial, EBM, and other electronic-heavy genres. In 2014 he teamed up with the artist @the-kretz and began releasing music on @plonk-label. He has since released 4 albums as Maschine Brennt on KinetiK, Plonk, and Microlab Studio, not to mention his more than 10 side-projects having various releases.

For the 25th edition of the CHP Mix series we have a very special treat for you all. I had the honor and privilege to record a one-for-one b2b set with Legendary bass technician, Scratch-D!

Our goal for the session was to juxtapose old school classics with new school electronics to create a synergistic sound that takes you on an eclectic journey through more than 40 years of legendary music. It was a huge honor to record with such a huge inspiration, mentor, and friend and I am mega hyped about the creative body of sound we made to share with you.

Scratch D of Dynamix II (Miami) is a bass heavy Dj and producer of the highest order. Unconstrained by trends, his numerous game-changing contributions to the dance music world span over two decades longer than any EDM jock of the moment. This is an artist seasoned with dropping low end 808, and enamored to see it move a crowd either solo as Scratch-D or in his iconic Electro Bass act Dynamix II (Give The Dj A Break).
