Gregorian Agios (Coptic/Arabic/English) - Fr. John Ibrahim

This psalm is one of the most powerful and illustrative of prophetic psalms. It so elegantly takes the worshipper through a journey from Great Friday to the Resurrection of Christ.

The whole essence of salvation is so powerfully transmitted in the few words of this psalm.

Furthermore, the psalm applies even more beautifully to the second coming of Christ. In this way, it demonstrates hope in Christ's resurrection in times of darkness and perversion.

In this psalm, more than others, the chanter exercised a liberty in splitting from the typical translation of the Coptic Book of Hours, when, in certain phrases, that translation was found to be less than indubitable.

Her pregnancy is a mysterious one
To my heart and to my conscience
But nothing is impossible for my Lord, the One

By His will He suffered and was crucified
