Ebony Buckle’s conceptual debut album, “Disco Lasers”, released unconventionally one song at a time, takes us on a journey through her imagination, celebrating the wonders of our universe and exploring how we, as human beings, can make sense of our existence. 

Disco Lasers, the title track, examines the connection between the undefinable human soul and indisputable scientific fact, and the fruits of our creativity that can bring us closer to a brighter (or darker) future! It also reflects on the source of life or, more controversially, the pressures of becoming a mother. Sharing her own hopes and fears Ebony opens her heart to the uncomfortable feeling many women experience: will I be enough as a mother?

This is the third chapter from my upcoming album, Hearts Get Started. 

This album is a collection of songs written over several years, some of them being my oldest. It feels a little like a puzzle, with each song being its own world and story. When you put them together, they are stepping stones along the way of my musical adventure. I like to think of it as a prequel to our first album Disco Lasers. It's all the music that got me to that point.

Ebony Buckle's next single is Susan. Susan is Ebony's imaginary best friend/alter ego and her full name is Susan the Raptor.

Ebony Buckle is London-based conceptual pop artist, originally from Townsville, Australia. She writes and performs with her husband - musician and producer Nick Burns. With her music Ebony holds a mirror to herself and the world, reflecting the human want and struggle to fit in or break out.

Ebony’s debut album Disco Lasers received critical acclaim from the likes of Earmilk and Atwood Magazine. Reflected in Buckle’s soaring vocals & imaginative songwriting, the album is a collection of audio-visual stories inspired by folk tales and the crossroads between fiction and science.

Her upcoming album Hearts Get Started, will provide an insight into Buckle’s musical exploration of pop and rock, and described by some of her patrons who’ve heard the demos as the prequel to Disco Lasers. Fall Behind, the first single of HGS was released in July 2024, the video was a collaboration between Ebony and performance artist Roymata Holmes AKA Miss Martoya.

Ebony’s unique voice was first recognised in the BBC’s drama Inspector George Gently, where she performed a version of Silver Dagger which reached number 1 in the iTunes World Music Charts.

Performing her original music across the UK, Europe & Australia, Ebony has been sharing the stage with legendary acts like Solstice, Lifesigns, Focus and Ren Harvieu.
