The young vibrant artist Everlyn “Ebony Empress” Walters was born in Dominica, in the village of Portsmouth on the 16th August 1986.

Ebony Empress started singing at the age of ten. Where she competed and won the Interscholastic School Singing Competition. One of many school hosted competitions she has won.

“I remember my techer and friends being cvery porud of me.....   they encouraged me to join” 

It was from that moment Ebony Empress fell in love with music.

During her teenage years, she developed a routine of writing poems and songs. However, with no producer or recording capabilities her songs never came to life .

In 2004 she migrated to St. Maarten and attended the University of St. Martin.

In 2012-2014, during the carnival season she played with various bands on the island, including; 4m Band, Xplosion Band and Wicked Boyz Band which helped her to develop the needed confidence to direct a massive crowd.

In 2015, Ebony Empress started her solo career and represented St.Maarten in a “Best Wet Fete Song” competition in Anguilla.

In 2016, she entered the Soca Rumble. She won most votes. 

“That award was special to me, it showed the faith my fans have in me”
