When I observed a friend and fellow poet consistently release many delicious works I asked him how he keeps it up. Where his inspiration comes from?

He told me that he frequently walked through graveyards and sat in waterfalls.

I felt like I was struck by lightning.

Immediately I hopped on my bicycle and rode to a graveyard I knew well that was far away in Flushing, New York from Queens but in my hurrying I lost breath and was sweating profusely.

That's when the first line of the poem literally came to me.

When a fellow pedestrian shared some of his life energy so that I wouldn't tarry. 

After a few blocks another pedestrian called out to me.

I was reinvigorated by these two and by the time I reached the graveyard knew well what should be written down first.

My first full spoken word piece haha it took me months of repeating it incessantly while riding my bicycle to memorize it fully.
