Following the wicked opening set from our residents Lee James & Garry Dabill was a DJ who used to be a regular guest at UpYerRonson and even hosted the infamous 12 Nights of Summer Party at The Pleasure Rooms in 1996....he was back making his first UYR appearance in over 20 years....the legend that is Jeremy Healy!! Jeremy played the 5pm-6.30pm set on the Terrace so one would think he'd take it easy and play some cool summer terrace vibes...don't be silly, this is Jeremy Healy we're talking about, THE best PARTY DJ who always plays a set that will make you dance whatever time of day it is!! This is my current live set for 2018, backing track produced and recorded at home, with the live pianos and synths played in one take, just as I do live. All the tracks have been built from scratch, sourcing original samples just as the originals did when they wrote the tracks, vocals are acapella samples, some beats are sampled loops, everything else is played and recorded from scratch.

The track selection is inspired by my days trolling around the Blackburn Warehouse parties, Monroes, Shelleys, Shaboo, Frenzy at Sequins, Bowlers and many a house party between 1988 and 1995. 50 tracks in 50 minutes. Value for Money.

DAVOS LIVE 2018 DANCE CLASSICS 88 - 95

Many people have different interpretations of what acid house is. I unfortunately missed the U.K scene by a few years so never got to live it but for me this mix epitomises what I would have wanted to hear. If you were lucky enough to live through the scene then hopefully you’ll find a moment that’ll take you right back to the dance floor.

For me the beauty of sets during the 87-90 era was never knowing if the next track would be an acid, techno, hip house or piano house track but you could pretty much guarantee it was gonna be a banger! I’ve tried to replicate that sequence throughout the set.

Many fresh edits and a few newer acid tunes are included to spice things up but as always I’ve tried to keep them as close to the originals as possible. Some tunes blatantly weren’t made during the era but fit it so well I just couldn’t resist.

On Bank Holiday 2/5/04 I played my very first retro house event for Reckless @ Satchmos, Stoke-On-Trent. This was the first time I had properly looked back to the amazing tracks that shaped my club DJ career at Shelleys,Introspective, Freetown & early Golden days. A two hour set was recorded live on vinyl on 3 decks and 100 CD packs were sold after the event. This is the first time it was been available as a digital file.

History Of My House - Chapter 1 - 01-08-20 (In The Beginning)

I’ve decided to remake my first ever and probably most popular house mix in glorious hi-fidelity sound originally recorded over 25 years ago. Many may regard this as the golden age of early 90’s house between 91-93 and no doubt you’ll recognise many tunes taken from various sets including Sasha at Universe - Pleasure Planet, probably the most popular house mix amongst UK ravers to date! For me, this is where my house journey began and I still draw a lot of influence from the early 90’s.

The idea behind my page is to log and showcase the music that has influenced me over the last 35+ years so that my daughter, Ebony, can listen to ‘olden day’ music and hopefully appreciate how good we had it. 

Having learnt my craft in the late 80’s at the age of 12 and teaching myself how to beat match on 1200’s within a week, I felt I had a knack for this DJ’ing thing way before it became fashionable. I would class myself as quite a versatile DJ able to lend my hand to most genres. Hopefully all those years of bedroom mixing and house parties have paid off…but that’s up to you to decide. 

I attempt to capture a constant energy in my mixes regardless of genre and am always a firm believer that the mix is as important as the track itself. I endeavour to create seamless transitions whilst maintaining the energy. During longer mixes a welcome switch in style is sometimes required. In fact different genres warrant different styles of mixing, in my opinion. And monotonous sets do nothing for me. Up and down, peaks and troughs, it’s all about building the listener up and letting them down gently.

Never one to choose tracks based on their popularity or current chart position, I hand pick the tunes I mix because I think they’ll stand the test of time. The idea being that during any of my sets I can pick a point and know I’ll dig that track or mix. Although digitally digging isn’t as rewarding as finding physical vinyl records for me, it is a whole lot easier. That said there are a lot of below par tunes out there to sift through before finding worthy tracks. Then the set process begins…I just approach it as a musical jigsaw.

Anyway, enough about me. Whether you’re getting ready to go out for the night, cleaning the kitchen or in the car, turn it up, get in the groove and I hope you enjoy the vibes  😎
