Allow me to introduce to you my third album, “Shaka.”
“Shaka” has conceptually grown on me. It is safe to say, it’s the full expression of self. Often as artists, we live by the idea of creating a brand, that communicates a specific type of message. (Which by all means is essential) Mine over the years has been that of a socially conscious, spiritually woke, and emotionally aware hip hop soul artist.
If the shoe fits then by all means, wear it. As such, the alias Ebrahim Soul’O has manifested over the years. This brings us to Shaka, a personality trait of Balunywa Ibrahim that has taken a step back to allow Ebrahim Soul’O to take the stage.

Shaka is the child in me that LOVES love, is quirky, carefree, and approaches music without a safety net. Put differently, he’s the guy at the party that’s ready to get smashed by all means necessary. Despite his bold ways, he is nothing without Ebrahim Soul’O.
“Shaka” therefore; is a two-part compilation of work that speaks for the artist that is Balunywa Ibrahim. It is in a special kind of way, a chance for me to stand up and say, be all you can be.

Ebrahim Soul'O is an alternative hip-hop soul artist from Kampala-Uganda. He has three music albums under his belt. “Conjolted- 2019,” “Akatebankano-2020,” and his latest concept album, “Shaka” released March 2023. Each of them has exhibited his musicality, production skill, and growth over the years. It’s no wonder his fans praise him for his authenticity, unique sound, and exquisite writing skill.  

He garnered attention from the Pearl of Africa star search competition, in 2021. Where he won the award for best Eastern regional contestant and was signed off by the judges as a “true artist.” 

In April 2022 he emerged as the first runner-up of the MTN Hip-hop Cypher of 2022. From this platform, he and the other top five contestants were spotted by Benon Mugumbya of Swangz Avenue who offered to produce for them the song “Bikaaye” supported by MTN Pulse.

Ebrahim soul’O has performed on stages like Afropalooza, Nyege Nyege, Blankets and Wine (10th edition), the Pearl of Africa star search, the Sofa Kampala, EKyooto ha mpaango festival, Kampala Innovation Week launch, bayimba festival, the national theatre, babishai niwe,  Alliance francaise Kampala, Goethe Zentrum, Tontoma jazz night, lantern meet foundation shows, poetry shrine, and Kitara nation festivals and shows.
