I'm TradeMark Gunderson.  I have a band called The Evolution Control Committee.

Since 1986, The Evolution Control Committee has steadily built a worldwide reputation as one of the world's influential and leading mash-up bands, assembling samples and sounds into cut-and-paste masterpieces.  In the early 90's The ECC set the pace with The Whipped Cream Mixes, combining the music of Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass with the vocals of Public Enemy's Chuck D.  Although the word didn't exist at the time, this become credited as the first mashup, an entire music genre defined by The ECC's initial A + B formula. In 1999 The ECC upped the ante once again, releasing the single Rocked By Rape as a sort of sequel.  Combining the music of AC/DC with the vocals of newscaster Dan Rather, it made The ECC the target of legal threats from Rather's network CBS.  The record label deleted the song from their catalog, but The ECC waged a war in the press and other creative outlets such as “Napster Bombing”, a strategy they pioneered to fool music downloaders into downloading and spreading their outlaw song.  The song was defiantly included on their 2003 Seeland Records album “Plagiarhythm Nation v2.0”, which charted #1 on many college stations and #23 on the CMJ Core chart.  The ECC has appeared on air from CNN to C-SPAN and in print from Spin to the Macmillan Dictionary (look up “Plagiarhythm”), and have given over 1,000 live performances at festivals, concert halls, bars, and galleries all over the world.
