A Fish Upstream

Derealization, depersonalization -- these are things I often battle.  This song began as a meditative track for my morning, but I dissociated in the act of creating it, so I changed it a bit to reflect the depth of the battle, the beauty and fear in being "lost," the victory in coming back to myself, and a bit of the pain that lingers on after the experience.

To Gather Myself In

This began as a rather normal (boring) track from Ech(o).  Post-op and on pain meds, of course I managed to crank out the most ordinary sounds I've ever produced.  After a call for aid, I got much more than I bargained for with the beautiful, eerie, dark and delicate atmosphere created by The Implicit Order.  Hope you enjoy a new little trip!

I had a prose piece that I'd written during a particularly unhappy period of time in Alaska.  I asked my dear friend Bash Nova to give it a bit more, and he graciously complied, building on the feelings in the work with his lovely layers (hah!) of reverb, synth, distortion, and Bash Nova Style.  Something different.  Hope you enjoy.

Again, after getting all loopy post-surgery, I somehow managed to play the keyboard like a normal person.  Too normal.  I put out a call for aid.  The Implicit Order answered with an incredible collaboration, and now the multi-talented Swin Deorin has delivered OUR version.  Very different from the other, and every bit as amazing.  This is a groovy grooving track that is easy on the ears and kind to the body.  Dig it!

Ech(o) & Swin Deorin - Elevator Psycho

Track from split with Swin Deorin. Had a little fun layering and tweaking keyboard. Ditto with my voice.  Most of the sounds on my part of this forthcoming split are created from my voice. (I was inspired by Toxic Chicken to try this).  This song is an expression of the beauty and the rage of everyday life.  A beautiful son, flowers in the garden, a cat in my lap; an illness that won't leave, bullies, surgeries. All in all, it is just an echo of how I sometimes feel.  Thus, as this life may be an answer to The Question, perhaps this signifies nothing at all. 

Stillborn

Didn't make the cut.  Was gonna put this on a split with Swin Deorin, but I'm starting to feel like a one-trick pony.  I'm heading back to my roots for a bit, working on maximizing the minimal, focusing of field recordings, layered vox, found sounds, and simple instrumentation, full of imperfections.  I like this track a little bit, but I'm lacking any connection to the constant creating, layering, and tweaking of synths.  Sounds natural to me. ;)

Left Alone in Bolivia

Attempt at some sort of noise.  I'm calling it pretty noise.  It is a bit like the inside of my skull when shit is hitting the fan. It soothes the savage beast, I guess.
