This song is sort of a zipper folk song. About two years ago a friend of Vic's brought some lyrics for a song set to Eddie Grant's “Gimme Hope Joanna”, or at least that was the inspiration. The duo had fun doing the song at Berkeley Fellowship Monthly Open Mic. When Vic got invited to sing at the "March Against Monsanto" in Santa Rosa, CA set for Saturday, 10-12-13, he got this song dusted off and ran it through yet another round of zipper lyric updates.
