Amazon alone emitted 61 million metric tons of carbon dioxide in 2020 - the equivalent of 16 coal-burning power plants running for a year.

Some of America’s most prominent companies, including Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, and Disney are backing business and lobbying groups that are fighting landmark climate legislation despite their promises to combat the climate crisis.

These are difficult times (aren't they always).  We all depend on someone; the solidity in our lives.   ...if we don't, it's a sad life, because it's a tough life and we need all of the help we can get.  This is a song about those you depend on.

January’s fool steps out into the limelight.
The first day of the year is always filled with fear
and hope and love and good intention.

May’s fool is turning over new leaves
hoping spring will bring some clear days,
show new ways to be together.

Flaking paint on our hotel room window is out of step with the rest of the room
But dark green walls and patterned bathroom tiles, and a fire that offsets the winter gloom,
and a bed with soft pillows,  a huge warming quilt, with coffees and biscuits and tea,
all provide refuge, an oasis of calm, against the storms that life has sent with ferocity….

you said your sad goodbye

Inside here, its peaceful and kind, away from the shock and loss and devastation
But flashbacks of the bedside, final sad hours, medicines and medics and sleep deprivation,
final conversations, the snatching of memories in short breathless whispers, and the final release, with a sigh, tears, black dresses and ties and a eulogy by brothers and sister
Are still there, but there’s comfort in this quiet isolation

In an old English town, deep inside Sussex, with oak doors and old pubs and grey chimney smoke
surrounded by fields and full bloated river where we walked for miles, held hands and got soaked
then back to the hotel for swimming and resting, tv, hot baths and loving,
reading books, watching people, we stretched out and enjoyed the freedom of just doing nothing
