First Poem for the new stuff.

Laying in a room filled with the aroma of cigarettes and cheap sex
cockroaches climbing the bathroom walls, highlighting the defects
mold around holes I can't critique because my soul needs patch work
I can't wash off the filth from poor choices because my back hurts
and these pills I take every day to dull the pain kill my motivation
I've got excuses for excuses, reasons my relationships end abrasive
the common denominator for every problem I've had, is me
I feel like I can't resolve them by being...
I fill the room with air fresheners to mask the rancid smell
just like writing poems to hide all the pain I've tried to shell
I leave the rest of the room intact, because I'm too lazy to take action
saying stupid shit, "if they don't like me for me..." it won't happen
I'm a catalogue of character flaws, growing draught of good traits
I watch inspirational videos, click like, but due to the work it'll take
never add them to my playlist, I keep it basic, mindless, I lie awake
praying my procrastination will mess with fate and break the weight
that holds my shoulders beneath the wake to drown my ambition
truth in these metaphors, the prefect storm of suicidal conditions
snow flurries and heavy rains, in the open, no roof and no clothes
living life is killing me, pained with an addiction to NyQuil & NoDoze
until I doze behind the wheel in traffic, dreaming tragic thoughts
thinking of saddened loss...
....depression wins, no matter what the casket costs....
