A roundup of positive nostalgia from Fontaine SMC: two french artists and friends who share the same vision of electronic music. They have several project under other names, often axed on IDM/electro, but this time the joined the forces for a synthwave and punk flavor project.
I was a soldier EP is a social criticism/journey into human fears and hard relationships, synthetized into an 80s look, dusty and raw sounding.
A mix of punk dementia and the most intense dance music, the one that takes the joints and makes you move them well. A sound that seems to come from a white label from the start of 90s to mystery titillate the timpani of the contemporary listener, but it does so in a familiar way.

Suit Kei is founder of the crew Drastic Beat, old landmark of Italian underground, and of Witches Are Back, an international transfeminist collective producing art events, also running a music label and a radio broadcast.

Witches Are Back is an independent artists collective, originated from diverse underground scenes, disconnected from mainstream business' dynamics, with a strong political focus on intersectional transfeminist activism.
The project was born in Rome in 2010 and moved to Berlin in 2015, where magical beings from all over the world have joined the team. In 2020 Witches Are Back gave life to a music label and a radio broadcast.
Focusing on underground artists, the collective creates more sexism free and queer safe spaces to express art in professionally organized events that include performances, exhibitions, concerts and clubbing, releases music, promotes and supports creative talent, giving new impulses to alternative cultures.

Returning to Earwiggle for the first time since one of our early hits (his Midwest Whippersnappers EP with Paul Birken), the inimitable Freddy Fresh provides some choice material from the year 1996, remastered and ready for modern consumption.

We start with the tunnelling acid tour-de-force of "Abraxas", that first appeared on Freddy's "Analog Space Funk" album on Analog, followed by a similarly spaced out (yet previously unreleased) track of the same period, "Aerial". 

Originally released on Cari Lekebusch's Hybrid label, "Logical Grooves 1" is prototype supernatural techno on an almost morbid tip, while "Barogue" is a classic Freddy Fresh cut to wrap up (fittingly taken from his "Accidentally Classic" album on Harthouse), where weighty Mr. Fingers style chords play over an epic and deep-building exotic soundscape. "1996" marks a special snapshot in time - when Freddy Fresh did 'out there' techno in a way that no-one else did, techno that we believe will always stand the test of time. 

Also included is a special A4 poster of a young Freddy patching in the studio, giving a small glimpse of the Minneapolis great at his weird and wonderful work.
