In 1996 Paul Birken released the classic and now rare as hens teeth 'Surfin Superior' double 12" on Woody McBride's Communique label. This was to be a revered and respected record that influenced many and is still talked about and played today. Now, some 19 years later he follows it up with part 2. 
Nobody works as hard at getting human sounding chattering from their machines as Birken and here he treats us to 8 massive cuts of grinding Techno that are as humorous as they are danceable.

Delsin is proud to announce the release of a new long player from Manchester’s Claro Intelecto. Entitled Exhilarator and landing in November 2017, the 13 track album marks a return to action for the esteemed producer. 

Claro Intelecto is Mark Stewart, an artist who has mixed up techno, house and IDM into his own unique forms since 2003. Modern Love and Delsin have been his primary homes, and the latter continues to keep his debut EP, Peace of Mind, on the shelves as demand has never waned since first reissuing it in 2012. Stewart's last creative period from 2011 to 2013 saw him put out a couple of EPs as well as the Reform Club album in 2012 and tour dates round the world. 

But now he is back with renewed motivation and clarity and has set about making music with more variation and less concern for what people might expect from him. The result is another cinematic album of icy techno, weighty bass and poignant melody.

From plaintive keys and slow motion drums awash with melody to corrugated industrial drums that don’t let up, this is a diverse album in both mood and texture. Moments of ambient celestial beauty exist next to breezy and summery grooves while skewed and sludgy acid sits next to serene underwater dub. All in all, then, Stewart’s mission to step outside his usual self has resulted in another landmark electronic album.

Claro Intelecto - Exhilarator (127DSR-LP)

Zone Records round out their year with a new and thrilling three tracker from Jensen Interceptor. 
Jensen’s versatile brand of techno takes him to clubs and warehouses around the world and has earned him the support of DJs such as Dave Clarke, Helena Hauff and Nina Kraviz amongst others. Taking cues from Detroit electro and Miami bass, rolling Italo and thunderous 90's breaks, he always cooks up a wild ride on influential labels like Boysnoize Records, Cultivated Electronics and Central Processing Unit. 
 It's the arresting ‘Midnite’ which kicks off with rugged basslines and slapping hits. Industrial, menacing moods pervade the tough electro groove and as it gurgles on the inner mechanics of the track take control of your body.  
 The lithe ‘No Sleep’ is even more athletic. Its basslines and synths gurgling and bubble, blurt and explode over and over as tinny cow bells hammer away up top. It’s a visceral and upright cut that’s as raw as they come.  
 Keeping up the energy levels, ‘Illinois 78’ is a little more stripped back, with echoes of EBM in the crunchy and off kilter drums and spooky synths. It’s a stomping, macho track filled with atmosphere and one that is tailor made for gritty warehouses spaces.  
 Once again here Jensen Interceptor brings a unique and powerful sound that will find favour with dance floors worldwide.

Just under a year after their last big impression on Rekids, Private Press are back with four more of their brilliant big room techno cuts.

This Polish pair hail from Warsaw and are focused on producing high energy and dubbed out techno. Already this year they have released on the Ziema label and had a strong 2018 two EPs on the highly regarded Indigo Area. Their powerful sound is a perfect fit with the no frills Rekids label and these four tracks all do plenty of damage.

Opener ‘Traces to Nowhere’ is an impossibly bristling track with razor sharp synth stabs and jostling drums that are redolent of the masterful Shed. Part old school, part a vision of the future, it is impeccably produced.

‘Paper Clip’ is a haunting, high speed dub techno trip with eerie chords and sound design that keep you on edge, and ‘Wet Moon’ is a broken beat masterclass with sirens, tense breakdowns and icy hi hat ringlets that is archetypal club weaponry.

Last but not least, the warm, atmospheric and unrelenting banger that is ‘The Struggle’ sweeps you up and carries you away on a classy techno vibe and rolling drums that you could listen to for days.

This is a devastating EP of high impact, high quality techno.
