Class 319368 departs Manchester Airport with a Northern Rail service to Liverpool Lime Street

A quick recording of Greater Manchester Police's new helicopter doing a recce around my neighbourhood. 

This fantastic noise comes from an Airbus (EuroCopter) EC-135, which replaces the old McDonnell Douglas MD-902 "Explorer".

It's a very different sound from the rotors, as the EC-135 uses a tail rotor, where as the MD-902 carried a NOTAR boom designed primarily to reduce noise...
