A Tribute to Larry Heard - Justin (Dr dEEp) mixes Larry Heard

For its first release, Sound & Echo bring a very emotional 4-track EP.

On the A-side we have the production and DJ duo S.H.A. They bring two great deep tracks made with various analog machines and the haunting voice of Chi-towns own Shawtyshank aka Lee Pearson Jr.

S.H.A. have a special way of producing music, they make tracks in a "one time only" manner (once they are made they cant be re-arranged or changed). They force themselves to arrange the track by fader- riding the sounds & rhythms "live" into a reel to reel.

The purpose is to limit themselves for the sake of a full focus, discipline and creativity into their music.

On the B-side we have an instrumental version of A1 and a huge slow-mo odyssey made by ChangED aka Ed Ayers. His unique productions were brought to our attention and we thought this Balearic treat would sit perfectly on this EP, along with our own vision to blend different styles of music.

The basic concept behind Sound & Echo is to create a label, not focusing on a particular style, rather to find the connection between dance music, philosophy and different fields of art. 

Intent & purpose. The true nature of just one single sound that is played, contains within itself that same nature and outcome in its equivalent echo.
