An elusive producer comes back with a new mantle: Ruff Cherry, last seen on the label in 2017, returns with an EP of shredded halftime drum & bass with jungle accents that etches out a dominating stance in the producer’s first foray outside the thresholds of techno. Hugely distant from a meager first stab at the genre, the Cork-based producer’s ‘Phantom Fortress’ EP proficiently demarcates a sparse battleground for conflicting and rhythmically harmonic drum flairs, enveloping bass, and taut sound design that is as compelling as it is exhilarating.

The first appearance of Mike Jungerius aka Human Space Machine on the Swiss label re:st is an exciting one. As a core-member of the Dutch De Lichting collective where he released most of his well received works before, he now steps out of the beaten path and explores different vibes and tempo's for a first international affair on re:st.
Written and produced during the multiple lockdown months back in 2021, HSM created the Zone EP. It's an adventurous four track project balancing somewhere in the grey space between experimental drum & bass and half paced sluggy rhythms. Bringing high energy with tight drum patterns and razor sharp beats while it leaves enough space to zone out in its deep atmospheres and subaquatic grooves.

Sleep was all she could think about; she couldn’t get enough of it, no matter how long she dozed or napped she never felt satisfied. Her bed was her sanctuary, her best friend and confidant, the only place she felt truly safe… It wouldn’t be unusual for her to spend an entire day there, wrapped up in the warmth of her duvet and in the safety of her dreams. To her, there was no place better…

Last summer Sunju Hargun’s Siamese Twins imprint shared their second pan-Asian compilation which gave a spotlight to artists who are exploring ambient and psychedelic terrain. The cassette release, titled Kāthā - a Khmer and Thai name for sacred mantras that are chanted to bring protection and charm - featured music from Khun Fluff, Nic Ford, Mogambo, Temple Rat and more. The label have brought on board a new roster of artists who offer up their own takes on the original material; there’s a rhythmic low end excursion from Konduku; a double offering from Jonathan Kusuma; and a modulated IDM trip from Higher Intelligence Agency.

Echocord Records is Founded in 2001 in Copenhagen, Denmark by the Danish DJ & Clubowner Kenneth Christiansen.

It all started when Kenneth in the beginning of 2002 met Mikkel Meldgaard aka Mikkel Metal in a small recordshop where Kenneth was working. Kenneth has been thinking about starting a label for a while at that time, and when he heard the tracks from Mikkel he knew it was time. Already at that time he knew some of the people at Kompakt, so it was the place to try to get a distribution deal. Wolfgang & Michael liked it a lot so this was the beginning of a already now long relationship. A lot of things has happend since, many new artists has been signed. Tjeck the big rooster. The musicprofile has always been circling around Dub Music. from Electronica-Dub to Dub-Techno and House. Kenneth has always been very inspired from what came out of Berlin and the Hardwax Camp like Basic Channel, Chain Reaction & the DIN label, which you can hear on the label and in his dj-sets.

Echocord Colour was founded in 2008 as the sublabel of Echocord Records.

Kenneth has been thinking about starting a second label for a long time, mostly because he had received so many good demoes, which he wants to release, but also because he wants to have a label where music for the dancefloor is in focus. It can be Dub-Techno it can be Detroit-Techno or House or even Dubstep, but all quality music for the dancefloor.
