"The Banshee EP was one of the last projects we worked on together in Bristol before moving to live elsewhere. After playing 'Banshee' across 2019 the track had picked up some interest and as our time in Bristol came to an end, we sat down to write three accompanying tracks that celebrated the last few years making music there.

After only having the tracks for a few months, lockdown hit and we never really had a chance to play the rest of the EP out to an audience, so we are excited to finally share these tracks at a time when shows are beginning to look possible again."

Datsik - Nuke 'Em

This reggae jungle mix is the culmination of a trip I took to Brixton earlier this year. Soaking up the Caribbean vibes while walking around was the closest I'd come to the source of the music I love so much, drum & bass. It wasn't the spring feeding the river - that would be Jamaica - but after trekking through the jungle, so to speak, I'd emerged near the headwater. It was like visiting one's homeland for the first time.

So this is a loving tribute to roots and dancehall flavors, served on plates of jungle with side dishes of dubwise rollers. I had General Levy record a delightfully over-the-top intro. You'll hear the sounds of Yellowman, Horace Andy, Sister Nancy, Garnett Silk, Max Romeo, Leroy Gibbons, The Uniques, and more. I never imagined I'd make a mix with a sequence of Lee "Scratch" Perry / Dom & Roland / The Untouchables / Fugees, but life can be full circle sometimes.
