‘Tattoo’ is probably the best song from “Echoes of the Dark” so far. Above all, the profound lyrics and the simple melody, which is immediately memorable, are convincing from the very first second of the song.  
The song doesn't have an intro and already conveys what it's about with the first line: ‘Got a tattoo in my heart’.  
We all have a tattoo in our heart that was once engraved without us having a say in the matter. This tattoo cannot be erased and accompanies us on our journey through life. We are marked and many of us practise our whole lives not to let this tattoo show. 
The floating harmonic sound of ‘Tattoo’ lets us wander repetitively into the depths of our soul as the song plays along. It is a well-balanced ballad in which intentionally very little happens to give the listener the opportunity to think about the lyrics or simply daydream.
