For those who don't know, 2022 was a bit of a rough year for several personal reasons, but for this project it was a huge milestone of a year. I want to thank everyone who's ever listened to my music or commented, it literally meant the absolute world this year. I also want to say a huge thank you to Skye for not only releasing these stems, but for helping my career in SEVERAL ways over the years, and being a great friend too :) I put my all into this remix, and since it's been a while, I'm making it a free download as well. 'Airlock' - 'Airlock' is intended to be bleak – more focussed on soundscape and use of negative space to portray the Burkian terrors of 'Vastness', 'Infinity', 'Solitude', and 'Darkness' with a title that grounds it in grim realism: mechanical failure condemning an astronaut. Media that shows the magnitude of Space and the consequences of being lost or abandoned are particularly terrifying to me, inspiring me to create this song. Many of Lovecraft’s writings describe ‘Elder Ones’ or ancient gods who reign over the Vastness with madness and fear, only vanquished by banishing them back into the Cosmos which served as an additional consequence when considering the sci-fi elements of this song’s story for the stranded astronaut."
