Unsere Nummer 122 kommt diesen Sonntag passend zum Wetter ganz sofatauglich und liebevoll um die Ecke geschmiegt. Und da unsere neues Team-Mitglied Tony Casanova die junge Künstlerin Gina Sabatini schon lange und intensiv kennt hat er uns einen schönen Erfahrungsbericht geschrieben.

„Es war für viele das Highlight des Jahres in meinem kleinen beschaulichen Heimat-Dorf im Süden Deutschlands. Ich lief über die große Wiese im Schlosspark, um mich herum wimmelte es von vielen anderen Jugendlichen die größtenteils aus benachbarten Dörfern und Kleinstädten extra zu uns gekommen sind. Denn das Straßenfest war dieser eine Tag im Jahr an dem es offiziell völlig okay war schon mittags betrunken zu sein und gemeinsam bei lauter Musik die Zeit zu genießen.
 
Ausgestattet mit einem Wodka-Energy in meiner linken Hand schwankte ich über die Wiese, als ich plötzlich ein Tippen auf meiner Schulter bemerkte. Es war ein guter Freund aus meiner Clique: „Tony, ich muss dir jemanden Vorstellen.....das ist Gina!“ und da stand Sie vor mir und begrüßte mich mit einem lockeren „Servus!“  Dieser Tag liegt mehr als 10 Jahre zurück, mittlerweile leben wir beide in Berlin und haben viele Sachen gemeinsam erlebt. Gerade deswegen ist es mir ein besonderes Anliegen ihr heute meinen ersten offiziellen Afterhour Sounds Beitrag zu widmen.

Ginas Kontakt zur elektronischen Musik beginnt früh, sehr früh, denn als Tochter eines leidenschaftlichen House/Disco DJs mit eigenem Plattenladen und Studio im Keller, beeinflusste ihr Vater Sie wie kein anderer. Mit diesem Background und ihren eigenen besonderen Geschmack, der mir über die Jahre immer wieder aufgefallen ist, habe ich es nicht nur einmal versucht sie zum Auflegen zu bringen aber auch meine stärksten Argumente blieben immer ohne Erfolg.

Am Ende war es dann dieser Sonntagmorgen-Bachstelzen-Augen-zu-Moment letztes Jahr der sie letztendlich überzeugte ein Mitglied der musikalischen Reiseführer zu werden. Und so kam der Tag Anfang des Jahres an dem ich Gina zu ihrem ersten offiziellen Auftritt ins Mensch Meier begleitete und sie mich mit auf eine Reise nahm, die meine Erwartungen mehr als übertrafen. Es ist die Mischung aus verträumten Klängen, ein bisschen Disco und die Liebe zur Musik die über all die Jahre reifte, die ihre Sets heute auszeichnen.“

Seit diesem ersten Gig im Mensch Meier hat sich einiges getan. Es folgten zahlreiche tolle weitere Gigs wie at.tension, Johnny Knüppel, Wilde Renate oder für die Love Foundation Crew wo sie ein fester Bestandteil ist. Im November spielt sich eben auch für Love Foundation zwei Gigs in Maastrich und Amsterdam wo sie sich schon mega drauf freut.

So nun haben wir aber schon fast einen Roman über Gina geschrieben und dabei geht’s ja um ihre Musik … liebe Gina viele Dank für diesen umwerfend stimmungsvollen Mix. Und nun ab aufs Sofa, Musik an Welt aus.

Graue Wolken haben in den letzten Jahren das Glashaus unseres Traums vom Weltfrieden stark erschüttert. Irrsinnige Despoten, unfähige Populisten und rücksichtslose Diktatoren stehen nicht nur an der Spitze der Politik, sondern auch auf den Straßen unserer Städte. Ist dies schon der Anfang vom Ende? Der Wendepunkt, an dem die Dystopie in Realität umschlägt? 
Schallfeld's neue EP Dystopia zeichnet ein dunkles Bild dieser Hoffnungs- und Hilflosigkeit. Verloren wirken die schrillen Synthi-Fetzen, die aus dem dunkel-wabernden Morast aus Bässen hervorstoßen, nur um gleich wieder zu versinken. Der Sound der Tracks „Darkness Falls“, „Fearful Symmetry“ und „Modern Colony“ ist schwer, weit entfernt von unbeschwerter Leichtfüßigkeit sondern alarmierend, fast anklagend. Die Remixe von Andree Wischnewski, Ryan Dupree und Dansir fügen sich nicht nur nahtlos in die düstere Stimmung ein, sondern verstärken zusätzlich den Eindruck einer kraftvollen aber auch bedrohlichen EP, die Aufmerksamkeit verdient und sich auch schafft.

Phil is a music lover and when he is going to tell a music story he chooses songs carefully, from downtempo electronica with ethnic notes,
to dark and deep house. He is also searching for vibes that evoke strong emotions and cleanse the soul. 
Many music collectives  supported him so far, like Magician on Duty, Home-Land of Bes, Tepeme Musica, Kybele, Deep & Smooth and many others.

Those who have followed my social posts posts for the last two years might have witnessed how I discovered a new “format“ of dance events called Ecstatic Dance. Some call it Conscious Dance or give it other names, but it all means more or less the same. As far as I learned about the history these dance ceremonies evolved in the mid 90s, at least partly based on an invention that had been made by an American woman called Gabriele Roth, already in the 70s.
20 years later, again, activists from the US west coast began to organize events, still with a clear reference to Roth’s spiritual superstructure and setting, but with a more free flow and open approach to the musical journey - Ecstatic dance was born. Over the years, a universal set of rules has emerged and Ecstatic Dance has become a worldwide movement bringing together all those who want to rediscover dance as a transformational and healing power, beyond the nocturnal world of experience inextricably linked with the consumption of legal and illegal drugs.
Looking back, it seems as if Ecstatic Dance found me, not the other way around. Four years ago I was already told by some shamans and other highly spiritual beings in the Sacred Valley of Peru, that my soul was searching for a new expression that would combine my passion for music and dance with my growing loving devotion to the transcendental and healing practices and arts. When I was told this, I had already started to attend the first little ceremonies, dancing my ass off there in the mountains, not realizing that I had already found what these people were talking about. It needed 2 more years, until I had an epiphany at an event of Ecstatic Dance Berlin, which made it clear that playing for Ecstatic dances was exactly what these people had predicted for me. Since then everything went quite fast with this new passion of mine. Meanwhile I must have played for almost 30 ceremonies and I also feel a strong calling to produce music that can be played in that context.
For over a year now, I have been waiting that a new name/alias would come to me. I had the feeling that it couldn’t be the DJ T. persona who is playing for these ceremonies, because this type of DJing comes from a different place inside of me, has a different functionality and contains a lot of music that I would never play in a club. Because I was waiting for this name I didn’t dare to make recordings of my sets public so far, they are all only circulating amongst friends from the worldwide Ecstatic Dance scene. So I decided, at least for the moment, to move on and accept to continue playing for Ecstatic Dances under my old name and to finally share all the sets with the world. I trust, that if its meant to be, that there will emerge a new name, and if not, then it will be ok too. I can't put in words how happy it makes me to look to a future where i will continue playing music in both worlds.
Enjoy this set that was recorded at Garbicz Festival! Thanks to the crew behind the festival & KaterBlau to put your trust in me and give me the opportunity to create the musical journey for the two ceremonies at this beautiful spot in the woods this year. The pictures in the album were taken at one of the two ceremonies, that has been my biggest so far, with around 200 people taking part.

Tribu Oro is the musical brainchild of Philippe Del Bosque who started the Tribu Slow ethnic grooves parties in early 2016 in Malaga Spain. Later joined by Michael Rittner (Miklosh) who brought his Acid and punk influences to the slow ethnic sound . Thus creating their unique eclectic sound. They always take you on a musical journey through different styles influenced by all that surrounds them.

In live situations they are joined by Sofia Lorena on vocals and Malcolm on trumpet and bass.
