Holidays

The track is divided into two parts:
1. The Return of The Stolen Sun, which is my attempt to imprint my feelings about winter-spring transition, I hope, you will share the same euphoric feeling after listening to the track :D
2. Sunset Mirage, which is dedicated to a beautiful dream I had last week. Too lazy to describe in detail (believe me, it would be worth it). The misty distance over the frozen in time sea, showing different images in the reflection of glowing haze. A girl who spoke Finnish asked me "Do you see, do you feel this beauty?" Of course, I felt the beauty, "Yeah i FEEL the thing". Hehe. Lovely dream.

This dream haunts me. I can't stop thinking of amazing images I saw in this dream even a year after. (07/2018)
Seriously. My whole life seems to have started with this dream. (05/2019)

Distorted Lake Sightseeing

Playing around with old PowerVox- the module must be in your SunVox pack if you're using version >= 1.9.2 (Instruments/Keyboard or something like that) :D
The module is an attempt to implement famous Russian analogue synth Polivoks's schematic in SunVox modular synthesis. It probably failed the main aim to sound like actual Polivoks, but it sounded good&greasy analog so I just let it be like this and made an another vesrion to fix some stuff, soon I'm going to post my new synths on warmplace forums and at my github repo. (btw check it out - https://github.com/nonepetrovich/Echo2SunvoxModules
Only drums are sampled (from Polivoks samples as well)
So it's basically a showcase for the module. Sadly this track is just a dream of a true love, not some manifestation of my real life. But you may feel the love I've put into the track and I hope it'll warm your heart! Made it Creative Commons for you <3

Actually I've started this track to celebrate 20thousands of listens!
Somebody have actually listened to my stuff about twenty thousand times!!
That's great!!!

So recently I've recalled one of my older tracks (https://soundcloud.com/mkayseven/call-me-in-a-dream), and decided to make a new one which would sound in a similar way, but even better :)
Who would have known that these samples would sound so cool together. Add the drums here - just perfect.
(Anyway, I have a feeling that periodically something is clipping, but I have no idea why it happens and how to deal with it. Well, let it stay as it is.)

The plot is unclear - I think that some day I'll come up with a big and interesting enchanted world setting, so this track and many of my tracks are small spoilers to it.
The evil king of the enchanted country watches two lovers and tries to divide them and even to kill. Enchanted lands can be dangerous, you know! Love will defeat the evil king, anyway.

Also the track's theme can be referred to Irish story of the Voyage of Bran, who couldn't return to his homeland after a long voyage across the sea.

I've decided to make use of great Fairlight CMI (which is a famous computer synthesizer from 80s) sample pack obtained from one BotB major compo.
This track was made using Sunvox and Ardour (plus Calf Plugins, very neat set of effects and tools).

Memories Of The Shore

Got third place in the compo! Great!

People say this track is creepy. I guess it's kinda crepy, right. But intention was to make meditative track with much movement in it.
This one is an entry for BotB VCV Rack competition and was made using VCV Rack. Wow, this thing rocks! I think I'm going to start making VCV Racks controlled via SunVox, SunVox is so easy and convenient to me to actually compose stuff, but VCV is so good in making cool and quality sounds!

Art Never Dies

This track was a sketch for quite a long time - until I've decided to make something better out of it. Like a hundred of other sketches it was waiting for the time I decide to develop it into something somewhat finished in a rush of procrastination.

If you used to read descriptions for my tracks, first of all - thank you for paying attention and spending your time with me! I hope you've got something useful out of my thoughts. You may remember the track made in similar FMish manner - Two Solar Visions. The second part of it was about a dream in wich I had a conversation with a dream girl who spoke Finnish. We were sitting at some lake's shore. Waves were trapped in time and didn't move, but countinued to produce soothing sound of a falling wave. The girl showed me how the lake reflects morning fog with amazing images.
Just thought that we actually were on an island in the middle of that lake. The Moon Island. 
PS Should i call it Kuusaari? I don't know if it's grammatically correct. I would wanna use it in my works from this moment.

On The Moon Island

Let's continue that neat track series (starting with this one https://soundcloud.com/echosdreamdiary/call-me-in-a-dream) in which I use samples recorded at home. By the way, it's pure sunvox.

This track is really about a dream I had last night. I was wandering near a big lake that is located somewhere in Finland. I tried to walk around the lake, but found myself walking along a river bank. I was curious to find out where does this river go, and walked so far away that I didn't feel like ever returning back. After hours of walking, I've reached a small city. I assumed this was in Japan. (My dreams are international. From Finland to Japan in an hour or so!) There I found a nice family that allowed me to be their guest. I've started to live there, and was teaching their children Russian language and other cool things. The other part of the dream had anime-like pace so I don't feel like even trying to describe it.

I've tried to make the track to sound as analog as I could.
Could be inspired by Aphex Twin's Melodies From Mars. Not sure though.

Raspberry Jam

The Shapeshifting Lovers are two higher spirits that represent the Love Itself, being almost a single entity, they stay separated because they actually enjoy finding each other again and again, living new lives again and again and reuniting again and again just to experience love yet again.
Their story repeats over and over, as they change their form, and their story changes as the World changes too.

This track is made using Sunvox and some drum samples. Sunvox' FM synths are simple but good especially when you apply a massive effect chain on them. Making the bells sound not so harsh was quite a challenge.
I wish I had an ok mic for recording so I could actually add some voice here. I'll return to this idea later I guess.

In a dream there was a secret Island in Moscow, which wasn't even a part of Russia, it was an island-state where international culture did fuse with russian culture and the result seemed to be very healthy and self-sustainig to say at least. It just looked cool and I felt very confident and satisfied for some reason. - Woah, I thought, - I'd better apply on some cool education courses on the Island and move here.
That was a cool experience. It felt so damn real.

Anyway, the coverart has nothing to do with the story but I was too lazy to actually draw what I've seen. This coverart is my attempt to draw something Kandinsky-style.

This track is inspired by pan Marek Biliński, who created many amazing synth works in 80s.

Perhaps you're curious about the story behind the track's name? Okay. Imagine russian city Tver in late autumn - when it's already dull as hell and there stil is no snow. Everything is dead and all colors are gone. I had a dream in which I've found the only colorful street in the city, (i remember it being pink or salmon-ish color) which lead to a very interesting place, where I found an animation studio lead by a guy bearing the same name as me. We had a cool conversation and became friends. I'm pretty sure it was some part of my personality.
The dream ended as we left Tver on a bus. Hand-drawn critters, cats and other wierd creatures became alive and followed us as we approached the end of the city.

Pink Street Dream

I've started this experimental track as a demo for Powervox 4 sunvox module. Every instrument is Powervox 4, including the drums. You can find the module in your 1.9.4 bundle.

This time the track is not based on any dream. I've tried to capture a very unusual feeling I had these days. Almost impossible to describe in words, so the picture and the track maybe a good attempt to do this.

Colorless thought caught in a colorstorm

I've made this tiny track for battleofthebits one hour battle. The theme was to write track about the picture which is the coverart :)

You'll probably feel my attitude to the Nature if you listen to this track. I could try to write it here but something prevents me from formulating it in a solid form of text. I just feel that the World (in a Russian sense, like Mir - World/Peace) is the only God I want to praise and make beautiful things for. Contribute to the World. The Nature is the power that makes the World alive and therefore it is of the utmost value. I hope you feel the same.

Snail's Song

Autumn is a very special season. It's beautiful, but here, in the northern part of the world it is also the saddest season. It feels just like the Nature itself slowly deceases, as leaves fall down and leave tree trunks and our hearts completely naked and vulnerable to cold raindrops and unpleasant wind.
Everything becomes grey and dull, rain is pouring and you start thinking of a vacation. This is quite a challenge not to fall into autumn depression. But cheer up! If this time is so dark, the only way to break the shadow - to capture the sunshine that still remains from Summer and brings you joy, sustain it inside and reflect it like a slow mirror.

Autumn

There are some places I remember from my childhood. Also there are plenty of places that occur frequently in my dreams. They all mix together in one big and wierd kind of a city - all the areas are connected and you simply can travel from one distant place to another. Some places stay as they really were and some... well, some places turn into something completely different but familiar somehow.
This track is about one of these places. It's interesting that the place in real world was a border of known universe to me - i've never had a chance to visit anything that's beyond it because my family moved from there and as a child I was not let to walk about aimlessly. In a dream though I could visit this place.
Imagine this - as you go further into a pale blue fog of an unknown street, all sounds get more and more quiet until they disappear completely, and the fog is getting more and more dense so you barely can see own outstretched hands. At some moment you loose any desire in going further (it just gets too eerie and might end not really good) and just come back.
Years after I had such a dream I've returned to the actual place finding that the street I've been to only in a dream just ends literally nowhere. It just abruptly ends with a garage of some kind. Nothing special. But that feeling from the dream still gives me shivers.

Endless Shore

This track refers to yet another twisted dream, in which I had to visit the Witch that lived in a wooden cabin somewhere in the woods. The other part of a dream was a true nightmare, but there was one very interesting object in the beginning of the dream. A small notebook with ornate ornamented cover which i didn't have a chance to open and to read. Let's call it the Dream Instructions.

This time I've made the track without using synths and effects I almost always use in my projects, so the result sounds pretty different.  Something like a mix of Nightradio and Echo's Dream Diary.
SpectraVoice synths (really underrated) and FMs sound great together!

Pink side of the Moon. Quite a random name, but it refers to a dream of my close friend. She told me many stories about a dream pink sea that is on the Moon. This was her favorite place in her vivid and colorful lucid dreams. Isn't it amazing?
In my dream realm though, the Moon is not a place, and sometimes you can peel it off the nightsky and put it in a pocket as a penny with a weird inscription. And the only sea I saw in dreams was pitch-black and stormy.
Such a difference. Dark and abstract dreams which I have, and vivid and colorful dreams she has.
Anyway, the Moon is a very important symbol to me. An ordinary thing that is not from this world. A reminder that there is something bigger out there. An invitation to bottomless abyss of the Cosmos. A lantern that lights up the darkest nights. The source of magic and werewolves' lady of heart. What else to say?

I bet I'm not the only one who feels down each winter? Sun rarely shows it's shiny face to us here. My town is covered in thick layer of grey clouds most of the time.

What were people thinking when they moved here to live? Like, oh, come on, this is going to be fine! - Now we have to wear warm clothes most of the time and have a lack of vitamin B or what was that thing that requires some sunshine?

I havent posted here much because of track limits, but even my alt is soon going to be full (of garbage)

Spring is Coming Soon

The best dreams I have - all of them happen in some really long, almost fractal-like coastal area. There are dozens of settlements there, all connected with that coast.
When I was younger I was even thinking - how is this possible for people to settle far away from water? It's so depressing! Even small lake would be fine!

If the dream starts near water, this basically means that the dream is going to be about a journey. Journey dreams are the best!

The track is inspired by traditional oldschool electronic music.
There are many parts in it. Imagine walking on the dream coast and visiting all kinds of cool places!

Strange thing, all tracks I was polishing for years are now all covered in dust. Not a single one of them sound as fresh and inspired as this one. It's so simple, short and it was born in a hour. Yet, there is something new about this track.
These months I was feeling like the source of all these beautiful things ceased it's flow, but it was not the case. Something was blocking that source from me. No idea what exactly it was, but it feels now that a reunion with true self was done.
