Rural is the first long-play work of Carlos Asimbaya, which sees a fully matured vision of Ecuadorian keyboard tradition catapulted into the futured and rhythmically sustained by the “bomba” percussion; an Afroandean element that bears witness to the unique history of this country. Trained in classical music composition and inspired by jazz music, Kaifo’s repertoire features haunting, extensive melodies and scales that informs listeners on the landscapes of Andean styles while providing a postmodern dancefloor experience. “Rural” finds a proud home under the Eck Echo roof, the house that delivers new and exciting shapes of global bass for our ever-growing audience.

Another culturally valuable project will be soon delivered by Eck Echo as Ecuadorian producer Kaifo is about to publish his debut full-length album via this Berlin-based label. Departing from the club-oriented sound of his previous this year's release, the classically trained artist this time focuses on the Ecuadorian keyboard traditions which he mixed with rhythms carried by bomba, a drum central to the Afro-Ecuadorian music of the same name. These unusual inspirations resulted in an astonishing, hard to define LP that's just as folk as it is electronic.
