Few weeks ago, Timéo (@timeodj), one of the DJs from french collective La Rennes Des Voyous contacted us to share his latest mix. 
We really enjoyed the vibe of the podcast mainly based on what Timéo called the "funk sensations", the energy of funk and its origins that he tries to transcribe thru lots of genres and especially French synth & funk on this one.
While recording this, he quoted Soul Claps records  "[About Italo Funk] it is not a style, genre or a specific sound, it's more of an attitude, a mindset you have to put yourself into before producing or DJing."
So in this 100% vinyl mix expect many gems from some electronic japanese grooves, Armenian and Austrian funk, kwaito, afro funk or house.

Barbara Boeing’s Bside exemplifies her rising notoriety; with tasteful selections spanning from the deep and moody, to the synth disco, to the signature sunny sounds of Brazil.

A Bigger Splash Podcast March 2022

Elemental Vol. 1 moves through earth, air, fire, and water not as metaphors but as emotional states. The songs drift like weather systems, mixing tenderness with atmosphere - acoustic guitars and field-warm vocals meeting the pulse of understated techno rhythms. The production is deliberately porous: wood and wire breathing alongside soft synths and spectral drum-machine traces. It's an "acoustic techno" album in the sense that rhythm and resonance share the same dirt. The songs carry the physical textures of wind in rafters, gravel underfoot, or rain on a roof, yet they shimmer with digital light. This meeting of folk intimacy and electronic timbres gives the album its peculiar gravity - part back-porch confession, part after-hours heartbeat.

Lyrically, Elemental Vol. 1 abandons conventional pop architecture. Instead of verse–chorus–bridge repetition, each piece unfolds as a field poem - free-form, continuous, and responsive to its own inner weather. The writing treats structure as tide rather than grid: refrains return when they need to, not when they're told to. This openness lets the language breathe in sync with the natural imagery that drives it - storms, light, stone, silence - and invites listeners to inhabit the songs as evolving spaces rather than predictable forms. Across the various mixes of its six song poems - We Learn the Sky, Don't Sightsee This Heart, Be a Storm in Me, Til the Heat Is Gone, You Happen Like Weather, and Wild Gifts - the album traces the cycles of intimacy and impermanence, finding in their motion the same quiet power that turns seasons, wheels, and hearts.

Heute hab ich die zwei jungen Züricher Till & Mo für euch ausgekramt. Sie bilden seit nunmehr 5 Jahren das DJ-Duo SENTIMENT und sind bereits fester Bestandteil der Züricher Elektro-Szene. 

Sie bespielen nicht nur die fabelhaften Clubs wie Kauz, Hive, Zukunft oder die legändere Friedas Büxe, sondern haben sich vorallem durch ihre Partyreihe “Miras” einen Namen gemacht. “Miras” sind Parties in Offlocation mit dem Ziel einen Pop-Up-Club mit einzigartiger Deko, Musik und Stimmung für eine einzige Nacht zu kreieren – respekt für die große Mühe. 

Außerdem haben sie erst letzte Woche das Muyal Festival veranstaltet, ein Benefizfestivals zu Gunsten zweier Hilfsorganisationen für Nepal und Simbabwe. Feiern für einen guten Zweck … find ich super <3

Mir sind die beiden vor allem durch ihren hervorragenden Podcast für unsere Freunde von “Das hätte es Früher nicht gegeben” aufgefallen. Mich begeistert bei ihrer Musik zum einen der Indie-Pop Einfluß der 80er Jahre und die fantastische Wandlungsfähigkeit. 

So nun genug gequatsch … Ohren auf für SENTIMENT …
