This clarinet stayed in the attic
Until yesterday
In a tiny case made out of plastic
Looked cozy in a way 

But it smelt so dusty and musty and fuzzy
And I felt sorry for it
This is not how it's meant to be

Give me some time to play around with it
I'll make sure it turns into something smoothy

After a while it'll be lively but creamy

It was standing assembled waiting for me

It sounded raspy and wispy and buzzy
But I fell for it more
Even though it was far from how it's meant to be

Thinking about turnips in a dark
Cos I was bored with all the lights on
Tried turning some off, even sat on the floor
But I still saw things the same
Thinking about turnips I'm alone
Cos today I was given this new word
My dictionary tells me it's got 3 meanings
But to me they're all the same
